Tony Blair’s catastrophic decision to invade Iraq cost thousands upon thousands of lives.
He shouldn’t be anywhere near the Middle East, let alone Gaza.
It is not up to Blair, Trump or Netanyahu to decide the future of Gaza. That is up to the people of Palestine.
Congratulations to Barbara Walker, winner of the Visual Art award for Being Here, a powerful exploration of memory, erasure, and justice.

This horrific image from Gaza yesterday should be front page news—people pulling bodies from a crater after Israel bombed families in tents. It barely registered because massacring Palestinians has become daily routine
Congratulations to @ZohranKMamdani on your incredible victory.
Your campaign proves what can happen when a grassroots movement stands up to corporate greed, defends the humanity of Palestinians, and makes no apology for its belief in a more equal & affordable society for all.

I did a talk at a prison a few months ago and recognised someone in the audience. Like a lot of the guys he was making thoughtful comments throughout, but his face looked kind of young and innocent.
Finally I asked where I knew him from and he reminded me that we studied at Cambridge together. This was the last place I expected to find him, but when he told me he was in for @Pal_action it made perfect sense. My eyes almost watered with pride.
These people are principled and selfless. Their protests have come closest to matching the insanity of what we’ve seen in Gaza. They have shown bravery that puts most of us to shame, and they stand as a reminder of how hard we should all be fighting. Free Palestine, Free @Pal_action 🇵🇸 donate below 👇🏾
I call it genocide because IT IS genocide.
Defined by intent, not by method or means.
Visible without magnification—if we look with context, at the victims: what they share is being part of a group, as such. Because of it, they get killed, tortured, maimed, starved, raped, massacred. In dozens or hundreds daily.
Genocide is a process, not a single act.
A collective act. A criminal venture.
To end it, we must first be willing to see it.
We are watching a genocide in real time. People are being deliberately starved to death as a matter of policy and Israeli political leaders are boasting about it.
So the least we can do is to stop sending arms to Israel and recognise a Palestinain state.

I have recently been introduced to and devoured Uschi Gatward’s debut (and only) collection of short stories ‘English Magic’ (she tragically died of cancer aged 49 shortly after their publication in 2021). It’s a fantastic, distinct and somewhat unnerving collection. Recommend.
This massacre must be one of the worst atrocities of all. Rescue workers murdered one by one, then buried in a mass grave.
This is clearly a war crime.
All those responsible should be brought to trial.
And we should stop arming Israel.

No Other Land depicts the horrifying violence Palestinians in the West Bank endure under apartheid.
Yesterday, its co-director Hamdan Ballal was beaten in his home by settlers before being detained by Israeli forces.
People applauded Hamdan. Now they are silent. Free Hamdan.
For 17 months I have watched the heroic @HossamShabat report tirelessly on genocide. Today Israel finally assassinated him. Words can no longer describe this savagery and silence
A group of settlers just lynched Hamdan Ballal, co director of our film no other land. They beat him and he has injuries in his head and stomach, bleeding. Soldiers invaded the ambulance he called, and took him. No sign of him since.
TurnerPrize 2024 winner Jasleen Kaur used her acceptance speech to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, demand an end to institutional complicity in Israels genocide & call for an arms embargo
A special mention to the pathetic statement from the presenter at the end
