Celebrating 65 Years of the OPP Auxiliary Policing Program
The OPP Auxiliary Policing Program is renowned for its dedicated volunteers who serve communities across Ontario with pride, professionalism, and honour. OPP Auxiliary members play a vital role in supporting frontline officers and enhancing community safety. Comprised of volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including those pursuing careers in policing and professionals who want to make a difference in their communities, their commitment to service is evident in the approximately 160,000 hours of volunteer work logged each year.
As we celebrate this remarkable anniversary, we honour the exemplary service and impact of all past and present auxiliary members in communities across the province.

Due to widespread weather-related incidents, including flooding, forest fires, extreme heat, and hazardous driving conditions, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is urging the public to remain alert and informed by using the appropriate resources for timely updates.
Please do not call 911 for road closures, weather updates, traffic conditions, or other non-emergency information. This ties up emergency lines and delays response to those that require emergency assistance.
For accurate and up-to-date information:
- Weather forecasts and alerts: https://t.co/SWBkq59Ort and https://t.co/S8s50EJP7K
- Road closures and traffic conditions: https://t.co/an9Mo5Eh2m and https://t.co/swkFoxy05U
- Marine conditions: https://t.co/98SxKd9KDC
- Forest fires: https://t.co/RfJjz9CBpb and Ontario Forest Fires
- Emergencies: Call 911
- Non-emergencies (e.g., reporting traffic complaints, suspicious activity): Call 1-888-310-1122
The public is also encouraged to:
- Monitor local news outlets and radio stations for updates in their area.
- Follow official social media accounts of the OPP, local municipalities, and emergency services.
- Plan ahead, drive according to conditions and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather.
The OPP thanks the public for staying alert and assisting in our shared efforts to build a safer Ontario. ^pia
A gentle reminder to all to pull over and stay clear of emergency vehicles with emergency lights on, whether rolling or parked. You could help save a life. And it's the law. . . https://t.co/HHWbvL6BWf

Auxiliary officers and Civilian members from Frontenac OPP partnered up with the North and Central Frontenac Township food Bank yesterday in Sharbot Lake, to collect food and donations.
The community was exceptionally generous in donating over $1700 dollars and 600lbs of food.
Many thanks to all those who supported this event in making a contribution to help the communities we serve.^rm

There is more winter weather yet to come. We continue to recommend that you postpone any non-essential travel
If you must be on the roads, adjust your driving to match the conditions. SLOW DOWN, leave extra following distance, give yourself extra time, keep your eyes on the road and don't make any sudden maneuvers that could cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Make sure to top up your fuel and your washer fluid. Consider packing an emergency kit (find details on what to include in another post).
If you are behind a plow or salt truck - STAY THERE. They are working hard to make the roads safer for everyone.
Before you go, check the, latest forecast and check road conditions at https://t.co/Ljpu6AF1H2 or https://t.co/swkFoxy05U. #OnStorm #OnHwys #OttTraffic ^bd
@BobRae48 So unfortunate successive feeder governments have eroded our ability to wage a respective sovereign defense - by force. I hope we have the ability to do so.
WE WENT BECAUSE YOU WERE ATTACKED.
WE DIDN'T ASK FOR YOUR THANKS.
NEITHER DID THE 158 OF US WHO DIED FOR YOU, AND THE COUNTLESS OTHERS SINCE. #house#Senate#Congress@CNN@ABC@CBCNews
🎉 Exciting news for the future of medicine right here in #ygk! 🎉
Jay and Kendal Patry have made a transformative $1 million investment to establish KHSC’s first-ever Clinical Chair in Genomics – a game-changing role in an area that many call the future of healthcare.
🧬Genomics uses the power of our DNA to create personalized treatments tailored to individual patients, moving beyond the traditional "one-size-fits-all" approach to care. This cutting-edge field has already helped KHSC pioneer breakthroughs, like developing one of Ontario’s early COVID-19 genomic sequencing programs.
The inaugural Clinical Chair Dr. Prameet Sheth is a KHSC trailblazer who, along with his team, has been instrumental in advancing genomics locally. Their work will drive life-changing innovations in cancer detection, infectious disease management, and more.
“The Patrys are ahead of their time. They are investing in something that is so clearly going to make a massive difference in our future,” says Dr. Sheth.
👏 A huge thank-you to the Patry family for their generosity, vision, and commitment to advancing healthcare in Kingston and beyond. We’re transforming care together.
