In 1943, Dennis Chukude Osadebay, the general secretary of the Ibo Union in Lagos who represented the Asaba Union, launched a campaign to federate all Ibo unions throughout Nigeria resulting in the formation of the Ibo Federal Union in 1944 which later became the Ibo Federal Union. The Igbo demarcated by British colonialism to majority Igbo divisions, and other Igbo groups cut off to Rivers State, led to pan-Igbo political and cultural development east of the Niger and north of the Imo bend, while other politics took over Igbo groups in diverse divisions. The movement for a region for the Igbo people west of the Niger, or the Western Ibo Province, later became known as Anioma under Mr. Dennis Osadebay, the first premier of the Mid-Western Region created in 1963. The Ibo Federal Union, once headed by Nnamdi Azikiwe and renamed the Ibo State Union in 1948, produced an Igbo national anthem and once planned for a national bank of Igboland. The union also made the 6th November 'Ibo National Day.' The union was close with the NCNC. But today, a few people choose to live a lie in the name of one mysterious prince
