TGIF. There should also be TGFHPC (Thank God for High Performance Computing). I have been using the Arkansas High Performance Computing Cluster for my research. I was able to parallelize GWAS for many traits in a way that instead of taking 50 hours it only took 2 hours. #TGFHPC
✨ Exciting News! ✨🌱🔬
Thrilled to share the preprint of the first research paper from the Fernandes Lab, led by my awesome student, Igor Fernandes. Our work reveals the power of integrating environmental data with #MachineLearning in #GenomicPrediction. (1/3)

I decided to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus, which includes DALL·E. I am quite impressed with the latest version of DALL·E. After describing an analogy of GWAS to DALL·E, here are some of the results. Finding genes is like finding a needle in the (genomic) haystack.
2023 was truly an exciting year for me:
-Got my second paper published from my PhD
-Big One! Successfully defended my PhD and became Dr. Murphy!
-Moved to Arkansas to start my postdoc.
2023! You were great! Here is to 2024 and what it has in-store!
Another experience that I am gaining in my postdoc is creating presentations with Quarto! 📊📚 While the learning curve is steep, I enjoy the seamless integration of code and content into Quarto, especially with interactive plots!

Plant a tree and stay focused with Forest! I started using the Pomodoro Method this year to supercharge my productivity. I have primarily used a good old timer for my Pomodoro sessions, but after discovering the Forest App and Chrome Extension, I will use this from now on!
The feature, known as Automatic Data Conversion, converted certain human gene names into dates and created massive errors in scientific research. https://t.co/eozMjc8lOh via @MorningBrew
