@wilnerhotline The Pit seems like a good fit... No longer able to host real tournament games, but with that history it seems like it might be a good West option.
I think what I really miss about 3 hour church was the socializing. Maybe we should plan a social hour at the park next to the church every Sunday to make up for it.
@muroyals@PaulPabst Sure, I can understand that sentiment.
I just think that Texas could already get a BYU game next year if it wanted. The goal is to get the smaller leagues more opportunities. To get big schools on board, I could let the big ones agree to not play each other.
@MattNorlander Winners should be required to play at the loser the following season.
It would increase the number of high-major vs. mid-major matchups that happen each season.
@BCB_Sara It would open (or dramatically increase) tv revenue from Spanish speaking Latin America. More money for MLB in a way that US expansion would never bring.
Could MX & DR justify the expansion fee and a stadium? Seems doubtful.
Interesting question though.
@jaromjordan Seattle 💯
I'm confused with the Las Vegas love affair. Barely a top 40 TV market. Smallest market with Big4 sports (was Miami).
With Raiders & Knights more established, will A's & NBA thrive? Or is LV over stretched?
It may just be me, but it seems to actually strike as a mark of supreme American cultural *hegemony* that our Super Bowl Halftime Show—one of our key annual cultural totems—can seamlessly hop from Maroon 5 to Kendrick Lamar to Coldplay to Bad Bunny.
To me, that is American. 🇺🇸
As I see it, a way to curtail hate speech by fans attacking a specific religion, like some Oklahoma State fans did throughout Wednesday’s #BYU game, is to punish the home team with a technical foul or if it’s football — assess a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. If a coach can hear it, the officials can too. Fines haven’t worked as a deterrent. If being decent and respectful is too much to ask, then let fans see how their actions impact their own team. Maybe the offending party will even begin to police themselves? The #Big12 should lead out on this. None of us are perfect and we can all be better, but chanting “F the Mormons” — or any other group of people — can’t and shouldn’t be tolerated.
@DaveMcCannTV I generally assume this comes from (it starts in) the student section. If so, another solution would be that the next game is played without students.
To celebrate BYU's victory in the Pop-Tarts bowl, I'm giving away another complete set of games.

I'll shut it down at midnight Sunday.
“In mid-October, he came to my room and said, ‘Dad, if I decide to pick my school now, do we have to wait until February?’ I said, ‘No, just let me know. I’ll call Stephen A. and we’ll announce it,’” said Ace. “He said, ‘OK.’”
AJ surprised him two weeks later.
“Dad, I’m going to BYU,” AJ said.
“You are going where?” asked Ace.
“BYU,” said AJ.
“Why? Tell me why,” said Ace.
“KY. He brought in a pro staff, a dietitian and strength and condition guy,” said AJ.
“OK,” answered Ace.
AJ then told his dad he had called Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Chris Paul to get “their take” on Young.
“You called those guys?” asked a surprise Ace.
“Yeah,” said AJ.
“OK, BYU it is!” said Ace.
