@primarylupine @Pirat_Nation Yeah, alot of the character designs "then" that were used are all pretty boring too. Plenty of "modern" designs can be cringed, but to act like serious sam is an iconic design is just silly. Fun game but very generic in terms of main character.

@DeevDijk @Pirat_Nation @NotiPlay_ To be fair, other than the vague nature of the MC, we don't know anything about the game. It could be awesome, or it could suck but I don't think the character being trans is what dictates that. It'd be the gameplay, the execution of the story, etc.

Also Saying it's outdated would be like saying Mario Wonder was outdated cause it's 2-D. It's just a difference.

@DeevDijk @Pirat_Nation @NotiPlay_ Doesn't that track with the amount of stories playing a bigger focus in games? Story heavy games (by the standards from when they came out) like Ultima 4 were all about ideology. Metal Gear is heavily about ideology and politics. Fallout, Silent Hill, etc.

Even classic crpgs like the original fallout games featured plenty of woke themes like anticapitalism and even antiracist/antibigotry metaphors like the ghouls.

It could be more conservative ideologies like in plenty of modern military shooters to more progressive ideologies like in baldur's gate. And haven't storytellers always done that?
