South Africa passed some of the strictest gun laws on earth. Citizens surrendered their guns under threat of prison. Then police tasked with destroying those guns sold them to street gangs.

The state took their guns and armed their killers.

The hotheads on social media want to play semantic games about whether a private, accredited higher education institution qualifies as "building a university" under state approved terminology.

They do this because their entire worldview is trapped in the extractive state model.

To them, if an institution isn't a state owned enterprise where you can appoint your cousins, inflate procurement contracts, and run the infrastructure into the ground, it doesn't count.

You just need property rights, financial discipline, and a productive tax base that refuses to let its capital be siphoned away into luxury motorcades.

Communities that understand structural autonomy are building modern, functional education hubs, while the state managed universities are struggling with broken infrastructure, NSFAS funding scandals, and academic decline.
