RIP Marjane Satrapi, such a shocking and tragic loss for feminist literature and cinematography 💔 I'm still mad about the losers who smeared her and misconstrued Persepolis as "imperialist propaganda" only a few months ago...
thats bc in the past bread came from bread trees, which naturally didn't contain gluten, but then humans killed the mammoths (the pollinators of bread trees) and the bread trees became extinct as a consequence, so humans had to start baking their own bread (which contains gluten)
I think a good litmus test for your feminism is "would any victim of patriarchal violence feel safe in confide in me without fearing being shamed". And I'm afraid many don't meet this standard.
George Lucas did not script this moment. Warwick Davis and Watto became friends on set. This is their genuine reaction and it was so good that they kept it in the film
The cultural moment where "the annoying vegan" is a recognisable and legitimate target of ridicule is clearly over since self consciously non-vegan people are way more annoying and self righteous
@phonometric@mechabowser Corn tortillas combined with beans form a complete protein, and I’ve had tacos made with nopal or poblano, so I’m not sure I buy that.
@BSannnta@AlwaysWrightDM@cringe_lizzie What’s morally worse in your opinion, expecting a certain level of self-sacrificing action to ensure the best realistic outcome (over 50% blue, everyone lives) or requiring that everyone choose the same way as you or else they die?
