@tmdpw It's a tradeoff indeed, since the app targets "normal people" i think this is a good way to explain some UI concepts
Power users/IT folks might not like it idd, but they're probably not the main target audience
I like UIs that are minimal & clean, but it can make it difficult for your users to find features. For Snapkin, the first time the app asks a follow-up question to a meal, there's a clean animation drawing attention to it.
Just once, click anywhere to dismiss it.
2018: “I want to make a living drop shipping”
2022: “I want to make a living day trading”
2026: “ I want to make a living vibing apps”
Every few years, a perceived get-rich-with-little-effort new idea goes viral
This is the year of the apps
I’m giving up on apps
It was always my dream to get my wife out a job with an app to replace her income
I got one to 3kMRR and then it collapsed
For this reason I’m giving up.
I’ve got 6+ years experience Google Ads in SaaS
I manage $4M+ in spend a year
So I’m going to start taking clients and become a services agency instead.
I just crave doing work I’m actually good at instead of fcking around with software with my mid skillset
I genuinely think I can achieve my goal this way within 12 months, but it will be harder work, more stress and commitment.
I’m done playing in the entrepreneur sandpit.
It’s time to grow up.
@mattiasgeniar People get fooled by these personalities online that have a huge following, build very shit apps and make crazy money. It’s all like a cult nowadays.
Something I didn't fully appreciate about B2B: pricing your product is super simple
B2C = a messy world of VAT, since you want to charge the same everywhere and that user does pay VAT
@sergehere Was thinking about doing the same, but then you advertise X and every user in the app says Y - not a concern? was even thinking it might get the app rejected by apple

The scariest thing you can do: send an app you’re building to your close friends & family, asking to test
Selling to strangers: no problem!
Asking people near you: feels vulnerable 😬
