I had this conversation recently! How valuable it is to have an admin that has recent teaching experience or allows themselves to have temporary teaching experience to better understand what their teachers need today.

Good leadership is good leadership, but every admin should have spent time in the classroom as a teacher. If they haven't, they should be required to teach a class as admin. You have to experience what teachers experience to fully serve & support them.
