A human tragedy is not a political football 💔
Bashir Ahmad (VT), reportedly died on 2 October 2026 amid unpaid salary. Now, instead of addressing the crisis, our Edu. Minister is shifting responsibility to the previous LG administration.
Deliver justice.Take responsibility‼️
DAY 22 OF PROTEST | POLO GROUND, SRINAGAR

An administrative Experiment to place Vocational Trainers under private companies, in clear violation of the order issued by the then MHRD (now MoE), has turned into 11 years of exploitation, uncertainty and suffering. We gave 11 precious years of our youth to the School Education Department, built vocational education into a successful programme across J&K and delivered remarkable results. Yet, we remain deprived of job security, dignity, recognition & the benefits we rightfully deserve.
The cost of this injustice has been heartbreaking. We lost our colleague, Bashir Ahmad, to a heart attack amid our ongoing struggle, leaving behind his wife, three children, an elderly mother & a sister, with an uncertain future.
How much more must we sacrifice to prove our worth?
The Directors of School Education & Chief Education Officers have already submitted their recommendations supporting the removal of private companies. What, then, is preventing the Government from implementing these recommendations?
A wrong decision taken by the previous government must not become a permanent punishment for an entire generation. We voted for the present government with the hope that historical injustices would be corrected, not continued.
Today marks the 20th consecutive day of our peaceful protest, yet 2,187 Vocational Trainers continue to wait for justice.
We appeal to Hon'ble CM @OmarAbdullah and Education Minister @sakinaitoo to intervene personally, implement the recommendations of the Directors & CEOs, abolish the exploitative #VTP system and provide a dignified Job Policy for Vocational Trainers.
We are not asking for charity. We are asking for justice for 11 years of dedicated service.
Let the mistake of yesterday not destroy the future of tomorrow.

Education Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, if vocational trainers who shaped and guided students are treated as “nobody,” then we need to seriously question the system.
Skills matter, but so do the people who impart those skills. Vocational Trainers have contributed to students’ learning, career guidance and employability, yet their years of service cannot simply be erased.
Madam, the issue is not whether skilled people deserve jobs. The real issue is whether the system has treated its Vocational Trainers fairly.
If the VTP system has failed to protect those who delivered vocational education on the ground, the responsibility lies with the system, not with the trainers who served it.
Respect the trainers. Recognise their contribution. Correct the system. @JKVTWA
#Watch | J&K Vocational Trainers’ Protest Enters 14th Day, Meeting with Sakina Itoo Yields No Breakthrough
Vocational trainers from across Jammu and Kashmir, who have been on protest for the last fourteen days, met Education and Health Minister Sakina Itoo yesterday.
According to the protesting trainers, there was no positive response from the minister.
The trainers also claimed that one of their colleagues has committed suicide due to distress over their long-pending demands.
They warned that if their demands are not addressed, all vocational trainers will march towards Delhi to seek intervention from the Prime Minister and demand a fair probe into their issues. They further said that they will go on a hunger strike if needed.
Today also some deliberations are underway where representatives of the vocational trainers are meeting government representatives.

We were the only employees who openly stood with @JKNC_ before the elections, hoping for better days.
Hon. @OmarAbdullah, @sakinaitoo,if our support is forgotten, let this post remind you of your promise. We stood with you then. Please stand with us now & end our 11-year struggle.
@NCkalakote@tanvirsadiq Thanks for raising and supporting the demands of Vocational Trainers.
Youthful service of vocational trainers should be acknowledged by Govt. and a proper job policy should be framed accordingly.

Says trainers may meet minister today; flags daily wagers' regularisation report pending for a year.
Lone Jeelani, President of the J&K Vocational Trainers Welfare Association, says the trainers want serious talks on their concerns, not to be “made fun of.” He also says their protest is being called politically motivated.

The government must listen to the genuine demands of Vocational Trainers: removal of VTPs, a higher salary, a job policy and a transfer policy. These are long-pending, legitimate concerns. @Apnipartyonline stands firmly with the vocational trainers.
@JKVTWA
This is heartbreaking 💔. The Association of Vocational Trainers says that one of its members, Bashir Ahmad, has died after suffering a cardiac arrest. The association claims that he had been without salary for the last six months. #Kashmir
Deeply saddened by the demise of Bashir Ahmad, Vocational Trainer, District Kupwara. My heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, colleagues and loved ones; may Allah grant the departed soul Jannat-ul-Firdous and give the family strength to bear this irreparable loss. 🤲
I also urge the Hon’ble Education Minister @sakinaitoo and Worthy Commissioner Secretary, SED to sympathetically consider the genuine demands of Vocational Trainers who continue to serve the cause of education across J&K.
