@wholemars Got it on my Cybertruck this morning, bricked FSD. Camera calibration and hard reset and nothing. Service call scheduled. Now it’s available for my wife’s new Y and I’m hesitant to install.
Mike, help me understand the appalling part for you. For me, it’s yet another administration cooking up another war and/or military action with no known and/or resonable justification. I’d surmise at this point we’re all just a bit sick and tired of unreasonable and unnecessary wars. What I don’t understand is the premise that a double-tap is somehow a new escalation tactic by this administration and is therefore historically improper and wholly unacceptable?
See, my feelings are fairly simple, I find I don’t agree with any number, or even a fairly substantial number of polices and actions by most US government administrations. I would imagine this has been true for most folks for some time, and for me, it’s fairly even keeled, I don’t tend to agree with most of the actions of either party. I’ll admit however, some of the actions of both parties do have beneficial impacts on me, my family, and my clients, and irrespective of how I feel about them overall, I try to celebrate the wins - otherwise I’m just angry all the time and that’s really no way to live.
So, even though I find myself more often than not disagreeing with the current administration - I do try to be objective whenever possible and look for real issues, versus the noise the algorithm and advertising machine is trying to elevate to real even though we all know it’s not. That being said, I cannot for the life of me understand the issue with a double-tap. If the initial salvo was justified (arguable I concede, however, the point is, if the initial salvo was authorized) under the premise of “destroy the enemy”, and said initial salvo was not fully successful in achieving it’s stated objective, e.g. destroy the enemy. What is the problem with firing a second salvo and completing the original objective?
I ask, because this seems to be a product of recent history. It’s “ok” to attempt to kill the enemy, however, if the attempt fails we now must provide aid, shelter, immigration passes, an apartment in manhattan, and a lifetime subscription to Disney+ ESPN unlimited!
See, I can agree that the premise of the attack was not justified; though to be objective, I’m no longer in military intelligence, am not read in to the particulars, and have no real understanding of the geopolitical and strategic objectives - if any- beyond what I gather from a variety of news and commentary sources. So, objectively, I know very little about the situation, I’m simply tired of wars in other countries that pose no threat to us. Still, if the premise was justified - at least legally, if not morally, ethically, or simply wisely - finishing the job originally started seems an efficient use of taxpayer funds, and not the horrific handwringing disaster worthy of public vituperation and prolific gnashing of teeth, yes?
14.1.7 avoided potholes and slowed for every speed bump on my commute. 14.2 has regressed and hurry is nerfed. Mad max is less terrifying however hurry and sloth seem about identical. Much more hesitant. Cybertruck and new Model Y both experience same issues. Overall happy, just wish 14.2 didn’t regress the things 14.1.7 was excelling in.

Agree with @CPATaxTeam 100% here. This is clearly an amended 2024 engagement added to the original 2024 filing engagement. Highly recommend you do not attempt to navigate all the amendments in advance of an 11th hour crunch to file 2024. The likelihood of missing things is too high. File what you have, then go back and make all the amendments, take your time, be reasonable with the work/life harmony, and fully explain the changes to your client in a measured and intentional manner.

Welcome back to our backyard. Pebble is truly iconic, always worth a round. Spyglass is my personal favorite of the PBC courses, an absolute beautiful beast. Pasatiempo ranks as my all time favorite and now that the course restoration is complete, it’s practically perfect, and oh so challenging. Majestically brutal even. The Preserve is becoming known locally for being perhaps the most perfectly maintained course outside of Augusta. Helps that the daily round count is exceptionally low. The GM out there is a great friend, and a true American hero. Hope you have a fantastic trip and look forward to the footage. Feel free to reach out and I’m happy to host your crew at our local hidden gem, the Pacheco Club, for a post round celebration.
@wholemars Just got it on mine this evening too. Two items I’m really looking forward to and hoping they roll out soon to Cybertruck, adaptive headlights and B-pillar recording. Seems odd they didn’t release with this update when the hardware is there.
Cannot believe I got to see @MikeTyson fight another professional bout. Love him or hate him, @jakepaul showed respect in the ring and gave Iron Mike a fitting swan song.
So this is the $5B joint venture with Rivian. Good looking, iconic brand. Here’s hoping Rivian can deliver for them. EV market can only be better with more options that are high quality and deliver a great experience. With VW’s current financial challenges, I’m cautiously optimistic. Perhaps by 2027 they’ll license FSD from Tesla and we’ll see a true golden age of EV kickoff. Can’t be upset at clean design and a return of a classic brand.
I’m inclined to believe it’s simpler than politics. Remember, these folks are in the business of generating clicks for revenue (more nuanced than that yes, but fundamentally, they need their content to spread). When Elon was the darling of the zeitgeist, pro-Elon content was in vogue. Now, the opposite sells. I still watch their content from time to time, with the same healthy skepticism I always did. I’ve never viewed them as “subject matter experts”, instead, only what they are - entertainment. They deliver often entertaining content that is smartly packaged and provides some insight and behind the scenes information on products I may be interested in learning more. They have never informed my purchasing decisions, merely spurred further investigation and if I happen to agree, great, thanks for the content. If I don’t, that’s great too. Dunking on their opinions is the exact same “crime” you and others are accusing them of perpetuating, generating views from controversial “hot takes”. When they are factually incorrect, sure, point it out, not because they will change their opinion, but instead so the public at large sees alternative content that can better inform an objective and ultimately more successful choice.
Had my first commute home today with 12.5. The complete hands free experience is just 🤯. Absolutely brilliant. 1 year with my Model Y now, 1st time Tesla owner coming from long-time Mercedes. Best car I’ve ever owned, most fun to drive, and commutes are perfection. FSD #Winning
I don’t get the hand wringing. Tesla told the world last fall that deliveries would be down, focus was on new model 3, factory upgrades, and Cybertruck. Further focus would be on factory expansions, AI/FSD/DOJO, and that market pressures from sustained interest rates and uncertain tax incentives in the new year would magnify the impacts of the former points.
They told us!!!
So when their predictions were borne out, acting like the sky is falling seems disingenuous at best, and insidiously manipulative of the stock price at worst.
This company is sound by all reasonable and objective metrics. Its fundamentals and core mission are not dependent on Qtr2Qtr navel gazing, and by all accounts the historical valuation has never actually tied to reasonable standards of market analysis.
As a car company it’s traded well above the standard, as a tech company, on par and volatile, as an energy company, uncharted, and as an emerging AI leader, situations unknown. Add all together and we realistically have no clue what this company should be worth.
In short, if you don’t invest in Tesla because you disagree with the leadership, or you don’t like the business model(s), or you just don’t invest in single stocks, fine, those are reasonable opinions and I wouldn’t fault you for them. But if you don’t invest in Tesla because it’s hard to stomach long term investments, or you just think headlines like today are good investment advice, well hell, I don’t even want to know you.
