You know, just thinking if they ever did away with the draft and every player came in as a free agent would the players get to interview teams like this?
"So, you haven't spent to the cap in 5 years, why should I think you're comitted to winning the Cup?"
The Minnesota Wild have Kirill Kaprizov and Quinn Hughes, the NHL's second-best goaltending tandem in terms of save percentage, multiple impact players under age 25 and salary cap room to work with this summer.
The Stanley Cup window is open.
You’d think Leafs fans are as bad as Boca Juniors soccer fans in Argentina with the way Mitch seems to talk about them.
My god he has absolutely dragged that fanbase on the way out (and this is as someone who doesn’t like the Leafs).
There are always bad apples, but the Leafs fans are not this savage group of psychopaths on another level from other big market NHL teams.
Gotta love William Nylander. Guy just walks his dogs, never says no to a picture, takes the subway to work, and plays pond hockey with local kids.
That’s my superstar winger

Tavares essentially gets the C stripped from him, comes out that season and torches it. Then proceeds to sign back with the Leafs for likely $3 million less per year than he would have gotten on the open market.
This man bleeds blue.
Give the C back for fuck sakes.
Puck bouncing around like a hot potato on the ice here tonight. Nothing you can do to make great ice in mid-June in Florida. Humidity through the roof all day here today. But here's a thought: let's award the Stanley Cup by May 31 and let's not have hockey in June maybe???
Shanahan inherited an organization that was upside down at the time. Credit where it’s due — he restored it. We won the draft lottery and drafted the best Maple Leaf of all time. Shanahans biggest mistake was never taking chances when he had red flags all around him and accepting mediocre results — that shaped the culture in Toronto. I hope the next guy is hungry and doesn’t accept mediocre results. We want a cup. Nothing short of that. #LeafsForever
