A person should be neither convicted nor acquitted on the basis of their race or of a crime victim’s race. Their actions, their intent (or lack of it), and the law should be the sole determining factors. The only way race should ever factor in is if race is known, by the evidence, judge and jury, to have been the motivation for the crime.
