I just think think his contributions were sometimes harmful to players. An over fixation on specific angles/positions.

@brianmanzella @deepcutgolf Definitely the #1 swing theorist of all time, but I think also the #1 bullshit comer upper with of all time too…and that goes headfirst into his teaching. Caused generations to fixate on nonsensical and unnecessary minutia and unmeasurable angles which destroyed them.

@PaigeSpiranac It’s not the time playing or the skill, it’s the etiquette and the understanding that there are people who are better than you on the course. These newer players often combine low skill with obnoxiousness and slow play which ruins golf for people out there who take it seriously.

@PaigeSpiranac @Corby626 Yes, but land prices and taxes have skyrocketed. When golf was down courses closed at record numbers and now they can’t be rebuilt because developers can’t afford to build new courses. So what’s left is cramming tee times and raising rates or less tee times. Neither helps.

@iacas @BrianL99 They AVERAGE 55 yards longer now. Dechambeau, for example, quite regularly hits 350+ yard tee shots as do a handful of other guys out there. He drove it over the back of a goddamn par 5 at Bay Hill. Just go watch Nicklaus and Snead mishit their way around Pebble on SWWOG.

He puts heavily technical books out with like of graphs that people don’t understand or know how to apply and he doesn’t put much material out. He doesn’t have an online/youtube presence.
