The Channel 4 docudrama 'Dirty Business' is exposing the real danger that sewage pollution poses to our environment and our health.
All while shareholders receive billions in dividends.
It's time to end the failed privatisation experiment and bring water back into public hands.
Enough of the bullshit, enough of the rhetoric, enough of the fiddling around the edges, enough of rearranging the deckchairs, enough of pointless commissions and even more pointless reports, enough of the lying, enough of the deceit, enough of the gaslighting, enough of the masquerade, enough of the pretending it's time for govt to get a grip, to show leadership, to show determination, to do the right thing, to act.
It's time to put the water industry back into public ownership and the time to do that is now.
But have they got the balls?!
Tories should never be forgiven for privatising:
Water
Energy
Royal Mail
British Rail
We pay an extortionate price for a shoddy service, seas and rivers full of sewage, and profits line the pockets of people living in other countries.

We were promised water privatisation would go swimmingly.
Surely everyone can now see we were lied to.
#DirtyBusiness is exposing the private water companies. Time to take them into public ownership.
Your organisation is going to struggle to survive in the face of its portrayal in ‘Dirty Business’ tonight. You have allowed & in many ways actively facilitated one of the biggest crimes in British history to take place. Aside from the ecocide this has caused to our rivers and seas, the human cost of deaths and injuries is horrific. You richly deserve the public outrage that is coming your way.

Turns out, I was just a poor prompt writer.
But after spending hundreds of hours tinkering, I've finally cracked it.

So here's the thing. You can only violate people's legal rights and your own word so far before they lawyer up and come after you.
I really do hope Musk changes his mind and does the right thing - the employees deserve that. But it'll be fun as hell if he doesn't.
My longest investigative article, trying to answer the question: "how could a company that raised more than $200M in funding, hired a world-class tech team, still fail to pay salaries of those people?"
A deep-dive on what happened, with exclusive details:
I put a pause on writing the Real World Engineering Challenges series on @Pragmatic_Eng for months. But after several people sent messages on how helpful and fun they found those articles, I'll experiment bringing it back once a month.

The company putting the below clause for software engineer contracts in the UK is Haven Holidays, a company employing thousands of people.
They are telling people this is normal for *all * UK companies to include in contracts and are upset when people point out its illegal.
Extraordinary exchange on Russian state TV’s top talk show about Ukraine. Military analyst & retired colonel Mikhail Khodarenok tells anchor Olga Skabeyeva “the situation for us will clearly get worse…we’re in total geopolitical isolation…the situation is not normal.”
Announcement: After 3 years of development – and months of beta testing – freeCodeCamp's new Responsive Web Design certification is now live. 🎉
I strongly recommend doing this new cert – even if you've already finished the old one.
[FAQ thread 🧵]
This is one of the most gut wrenching and heartbreaking programmes I have ever seen in my life.
All those lives of innocent people and their families ruined.
There are absolutely no words.
It genuinely makes me want to cry.
