Thinking about Mauga's Port-De-Paix skin trailer before it was released~โก One of if not THE BEST skin he has in game. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for lore-related skins. (Tied with Scuba of course.)
Back at season 11 when Overwatch was Overwatch 2, Mauga's "Breezy" highlight intro was teased, yet his highlight intro only shows from his chest up. The full render shows him with his knees slightly bent and his left hand giving a thumbs up.
Pride is important to me, not because of me or my boyfriend, but for my Cousin. She recently came out as Trans and my Tรญa and Tรญo struggled to accept her at first. They eventually came around, but I couldn't forget how heartbroken she looked and felt that day. Love her to death, and I'm just happy that my Tรญa and Tรญo finally accepted her and are opening their minds up for their Daughter. ๐ฉต๐ค๐ฉท
My awesome hc is that mauga was comphet during their friendship because he was scared of his feelings toward Baptiste
+Baptiste was into him but respected it and never pushed
But when Baptiste left mauga realized exactly how much he needed him (and how much he wanted him)
At the end of the day, Fiction is fiction. Whether or not people agree with what happens in the story, the story will continue. Life goes on, and so must we. If something happens in the story of my favorite franchise that I don't particularly like, I'll come to accept it. (Like certain relationships for example.)
People will have head-canons, people will have theories, amongst other things, but that's what I love about my franchise. I can agree to disagree, I can love the people that are part of my Fandom who create amazing art and passionate commentary about their interests. I don't particularly feel any more disappointment when the story progresses, and that's just fine with me.

Them
Mauga and Baptiste.
Baptiste wants to move on with his life and fix the damage he's done. Mauga doesn't want things to change, living everyday as it's his last. Mauga represents "Baptisteโs Haunting past" (A literal quote in Baptisteโs story in Overwatch's Pride post.) In other words... Baptiste's story is fundamentally about a survivor escaping a toxic, violent cycle (Talon) to seek redemption. Mauga represents the gravitational pull of that abusive past. THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION, but... While angst is a valid storytelling trope, minimizing Baptiste's canonical trauma and his literal, desperate attempts to escape Mauga just to force a romantic aesthetic definitely crosses a line for a lot of people.
Still, Even I can acknowledge that I can understand why Mautiste is such a popular ship (Hell, Even I believed that they were supposed to be exes.) But when it comes to toxic pairings and reading more about these sorts of things portrayed in media... I can't help but feel a slight bit of... an ICK, to put it lightly.
Hm... So Baptiste does have a crush on Cassidy and He and Mauga were only labeled as Teammates/Friends. Figured as much. Never really saw Bap and Mauga being a thing even as "Exes".
