The mental gymnastics these women go through to avoid saying “no! Marrying a 6-year-old is NOT morally correct in any day or age!” is emblematic of the whole Muslim world. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pink hijabi in full makeup and completely ignoring the purpose of that hijab being her modesty, or a poor old man from a village in Iran. They all think Mohammed was the perfect example of a human being and as a result, marrying a 6-year-old is moral. That’s their compass in today’s world. That’s why child marriage will never be criminalized in the Muslim world. Little girls aren’t human enough to be considered equal to Mohammed and his worth morally. This is what Islam teaches at its core.
