On July 18, Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) celebrated the graduation of 28 participants from its flagship Certificate in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (C-WASH) course. Launched in 2014, the course has grown into a regional platform for WASH training and innovation. This year’s cohort included professionals from Uganda, Somalia, Nigeria, and beyond, drawn from diverse sectors including engineering, public health, and humanitarian work.
Over eight weeks, participants were equipped with practical, systems-based knowledge to tackle pressing WASH challenges and enhance service delivery in their communities, with Mr. Solomon Oduko emerging as the cohort's overall best student. The graduation ceremony underscored MakSPH’s long-standing commitment to strengthening WASH capacity through hands-on, interdisciplinary training.
