@tennis365com You’ve clearly never spent a day near competitive sports with this mentality. It would’ve been a difficult decision on which her coach and physio will have advised her on.
Novak on Emma Raducanu at the F1 race today: "I've followed that, and wish her the best of luck, she's a great person, a great girl. I really hope she can stay injury free because the quality of tennis is unquestionable for her. She is a Grand Slam champion, she has that inside.”
She also played the brand of tennis she’s been wanting to get back to. We (fans) would all have loved the title, however if you had told me she would reach a final so soon again after her RG match, I wouldn’t have believed it! Slow and steady build is just fine, keep going Emma🫶🏻
I’ve seen a lot of improvement from Emma Raducanu this week. In the past, rain delays affected her quite heavily in terms of nerves; however this week she dealt with it brilliantly. Played two matches in one day for the first time, and navigated through a slip on court. Played 2
top 20 players and got the wins. Was smiling and fighting on court. Dealt with short turn arounds, and I think it’s no surprise she was drained by the second set today because this is only her third tournament after a long time away with illness. Match fitness will come along.
@TennisChannel WeekEND* more like. Played 1 match on Tuesday and the the rest of her tournament from Friday to Sunday. She deserves a lot of credit for how she managed her tournament with rain delays and difficult scheduling.
Your time will come Emma, you had a fantastic week and played 4 matches in three days🫶🏻 Incredible level from Vekic in the 1st set, and the week caught up with Em in the second set. Dont be too down on yourself Emma Raducanu!
