As part of the ongoing inspection tour of the 24-Hour Market Project across the Central Region, the tour continued to Twifo Hemang, Komenda, Elmina, and Cape Coast, where I assessed the progress of work at the various project sites. The purpose of these visits was to monitor construction activities, engage with contractors and project managers, and ensure that work is progressing according to schedule and in line with the required standards.
During the tour, I inspected the work completed so far, reviewed the pace of construction, and held discussions with contractors regarding timelines, challenges, and measures being implemented to ensure the timely delivery of the projects. I reiterated the importance of maintaining high-quality standards, professionalism, and diligence throughout the construction process.
In addition to the site inspections, I engaged with traditional authorities, traders, and members of the host communities to share government's vision for the 24-Hour Economy initiative and to gather their views and expectations regarding the projects. These interactions highlighted the excitement and anticipation surrounding the markets and their potential to transform local economies, create employment opportunities, and improve livelihoods.
I remain encouraged by the progress made so far and confident that, upon completion, these 24-Hour Market Projects will serve as important hubs for commerce and economic activity, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the Central Region and the nation as a whole.
