We are proud to celebrate our Board Chair, Linda Carver, who was recently awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humanities from Weber State University. This honor reflects the profound impact she has made within our organization and in the surrounding community. Congratulations, Linda. Your leadership, dedication, and legacy continue to inspire us all.
As I mentioned during my general conference address Sunday morning, followers of Christ should follow Him by forgoing contention and by using the language and methods of peacemakers. In our families and other personal relationships, let us avoid what is harsh and hateful. Let us seek to be holy, like our Savior.
In 2027, from April through October, the Salt Lake Temple will be open for public tours for the first time in generations.
This week on the House Floor, I invited my Congressional colleagues and their families to come to Salt Lake City and tour the Temple and experience a place that holds deep meaning for so many Utahns and reflects the history, faith, and craftsmanship of our state.
"…If I esteem mankind to be in error, shall I bear down on them? No. I will lift them up, and in their own way too, if I cannot persuade them my way is better. I will not seek to compel any man to believe as I do, only by force or reasoning, for truth will cut its own way. Do you believe Jesus Christ and the gospel of salvation which he revealed? So do I. Christians should cease wrangling and contending with each other, and cultivate the principles of union and friendship. I am just as ready to die defending the rights of a Presbyterian, a Baptist, or a good man of any other denomination." - Joseph Smith
I know beyond any certainty in my life that this is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, restored with the fullness of the gospel that God has chosen to reveal in this dispensation of the fullness of time and led by prophets to the present day.
I respond with humility to the responsibility that God has placed upon me and commit my whole heart and soul to the service to which I’ve been called.
Across faith traditions, sacred spaces—whether soaring cathedrals, quiet temples, majestic mosques, serene synagogues, or humble meeting places—hold deep meaning. These houses of worship stand in nearly every land, offering refuge and inspiration for the faithful.
I was grateful to share these thoughts with global faith leaders at the Eighth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions at the Palace of Independence in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Regardless of religion, we honor the divine call to foster peace, mutual respect, and lasting fellowship for the whole human family.
Susan and I have spent the day with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other community members who were involved in the tragic shooting episode that took place in Michigan on Sunday.
The devotion of these faithful members makes me want to be more devoted, and the faithfulness of these good people makes me want to be more faithful.
They have the capacity—because of the eternal perspective of the gospel of Jesus Christ—to learn lessons in tragedy in mortality that prepare them for eternal life.
We are familiar with the admonition that we should mourn with those that mourn. There are broken hearts here in Michigan. My invitation to any and all is to continue to pray for these good people.
One question I’m frequently asked is: “How do I know when I’m forgiven of my sins?”
I care about that question—and about those who ask it—enough that I wanted to take a moment to read some scriptures that can help provide an answer today.
The Savior has used the word “always” in two settings: You promise always to remember Him when you partake of the sacrament. And He warns you to pray always.
I am not wise enough to know all of His purposes in giving us a covenant to always remember Him and in His warning us to pray always lest we be overcome. But I know one. It is because He knows perfectly the powerful forces that influence us and also what it means to be human.
Jesus Christ foresees perfectly the growing power of opposing forces. He knows the mistake we can so easily make. And so He offers us the covenant to always remember Him and the warning to pray always so that we will place our reliance on Him, our only safety.
His promises are sure: If you will let your heart be drawn to the Savior and to our Heavenly Father in prayer, you will always have the Spirit to be with you.
It was here in beautiful Kirtland, Ohio, that we received a number of life-changing verses of canonized scripture now found in the Doctrine and Covenants. I am grateful for the eternal truths that were taught in this sacred space.
Life is messy. Following Jesus Christ makes it simpler.
When we focus on gratitude and love, learn to forgive, let go of anger, and take time to meditate and pray, it’s all good for our mental and physical health.
But Jesus Christ is much more than just a good teacher. 1/3
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the following statement:
“We join the world in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. Countless lives have been blessed by his courageous and compassionate leadership. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who looked to him for inspiration and counsel. As the world pauses to remember his example of forgiveness and service, we feel deep gratitude for the goodness of a life well lived and rejoice in the hope of a glorious resurrection made possible through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.”
In 2019, President Russell M. Nelson met with Pope Francis inside the Vatican in what was the first meeting of its kind. Of that meeting, President @NelsonRussellM said, “We had a most cordial, unforgettable experience with His Holiness. He was most gracious and warm and welcoming. What a sweet, wonderful man he is, and how fortunate the Catholic people are to have such a gracious, concerned, loving, and capable leader.”
Everything that we experience, the Savior understands. He came to succor us according to the flesh because He understands everything, in love. And that is why Easter is important—because He lives. #GreaterLove
The sacred epiphany Moses had at the burning bush on the slopes of Mount Horeb connected Moses to his divine identity and teaches us today about reverence for sacred things.
In great reverence, humility, and wonder, Moses removed his shoes and prepared himself to hear the word of the Lord and to experience His holy presence.
Similarly, each of us can transform our discipleship into a higher pattern of spirituality by making the virtue of reverence a sacred part of our spiritual character.
Reverence is not just an aspect of spirituality; it is the essence of it—the foundation upon which spirituality is built, creating a personal connection to the divine.
As we strive to incorporate reverence into our daily lives, we will be able to increase our humility, expand our understanding of God’s will for us, and strengthen our confidence in the promises of the covenants we have made with the Lord. #GeneralConference

Aircraft are marvels of engineering, where technology and safety redundancies are perfectly intertwined. So much so that we sometimes forget that the final safety barrier is human. ✈️💙
When all else fails, there is someone trained, capable and willing to fight for the safety of everyone on board.
The crew of this tragic flight demonstrated extraordinary bravery and professionalism. After their aircraft was struck, they fought to pilot and land a doomed aircraft, doing everything possible to save lives.
My humble honour to the memory of Azerbaijan Airlines Captain Igor Kshnyakin, First Officer Aleksandr Kalyaninov, and Purser Hokuma Aliyeva, among the 39 lives lost. Their heroism ensured that 29 passengers survived.
Next time you board an aircraft, keep this in mind. Treat pilots and crew with highest respect. They will give their lives to ensure that they are saving yours.
