@Kris_Lufc7 It was strange with Darko. He just far too laboured with the ball and the amount of loose passes was worrying. Ampadu offered so much more in the middle, he really got us moving. It’s strange with Bate, as I thought he’d be the one getting some minutes.

@Kris_Lufc7 I think this is spot on. Dan James has this ability to look average against anyone. Darko needs a loan and byram looks like a shrewd signing (if he stays fit).

@jamminbenj @MatP840 @EastStandUpper Agreed. Surely Orta has to do better. There must be a number of strikers across Europe with this profile. Even if the striker isn’t better than bamford it’s the profile which improves us. I can’t see how the club haven’t planned for this. At the very least get a loan in. #lufc

@EastStandUpper It’s a shame. The window started off with real intent. One of the major downfalls last season was Bamford’s absence it’s been clear since the start of the window we needed another proper number 9. Gambling on an injury prone bamford can’t end well to Marsh’s system. #lufc

@Ads__pb @EllardRory @ollya94lufc @PhilHay_ @andrearadri You’re missing the point that Bamford is not the same as gelhart and Rodrigo. They’re completely different in our system. This is the problem. It’s not even about moaning, it’s being realistic after seeing this last season.

Yes the bench is stronger but you can’t go into a new season gambling on bamfords fitness again. Why gamble after the season we had last year ?

I don’t disagree with that but like last season we are 2 injuries away from being in disaster mode again. The whole point is that we gambled last year and scraped through. Now we’re doing it again.

We have no recognisable number 9 to lead the line and the club are banking on Bamford miraculously playing week in week out again. We are in the same position as last season but this time we have no left back or striker ? In what world are we stronger ?

@marshyleeds It started as a 7/10 but starting another season light with no recognised striker without bamford is ridiculous again. It’s so clear we need a willing runner/physical presence up front and to not sign will probably mean a relegation fight again. You can’t gamble on bamford.

@EthanFromOnline @CMcCartan5 Yeah definitely. Bate looks like he’d benefit getting a similar sort of move to Cresswell. Clearly very talented but needs to get some minutes under his belt.
It would be great for the 23/24 to see them hit the ground running and get some proper game time for us.

@ConorMcGilligxn I think we’d do very well to get two of them. Camara seems the most attainable but hopefully we can be seen as a stepping stone like with raphina for 2-3 years.

@EthanFromOnline @CMcCartan5 Agreed. The thin squad unfortunately stopped the development of the younger players who are just abit short in quality/experience. Hopefully this year we can see them develop elsewhere and return. I’d be interested to see if Bate gets a loan move. Happy that Charlie gets a loan.
