@mcribbHistory Phoenix perfect for Napoleon…but a whole part of the legend of a young Napoleon tearing up Europe is lost when the actor is in his 50s.
Also some weird historical choices (frozen lake / cannons at pyramid?)
@KKriegeBlog I think Phoenix is 100% the actor for Napoleon, but it loses some of the fact that Napoleon was this madly youthful “mover of the world” that gets lost. It was key part of his early personality.
I actually think Tom Burke did a great job on the bbc version.
