In occupied Oleshky, Ukrainians are beginning to eat their dogs; according to the city's military administration, the Russians have not allowed food into the city since May.
The Russians intend to starve 6,000 people to death.
"A few days ago, I heard for the first time that there are indeed cases where some families are eating dogs. Just a week ago, I denied such reports, but now someone from there has confirmed it to me. There is literally nothing to eat. The situation is deteriorating not just day by day, but hour by hour.
And there is no prospect of rescue. People face two paths: either they starve to death, or they are killed by a drone or artillery fire. There is no third option. The likelihood of surviving there without food is zero," explained Tetiana Hasanenko, head of the Oleshky military administration, as reported by *Ukrayinska Pravda*.
According to the head of the military administration, there is no disparity where some families in the city have food while others do not; everyone is starving.
The last food delivery to Oleshky took place on May 26. Every subsequent attempt has been unsuccessful.
His teeth were pulled out with pliers, and the second time – simply knocked out.
And this is not even the most horrifying thing he described.
Imagine a man who weighed 95 kilograms – 209 pounds.
And then dropped to 59 kilograms – 130 pounds.
Not because he lost weight – but because this is how he was "kept."
This is Yevhen Chudnetsov. An Azov fighter. A man who was in Russian captivity twice – and survived.
The first time, he was captured in Shyrokyne. From February 2015 until December 2017. Almost three years.
After the exchange, he returned to his unit.
Then – Mariupol. Then – Azovstal.
And captivity again.
He was released only in May 2023.
He speaks about rehabilitation calmly, almost matter-of-factly:
"I barely went through rehabilitation. For me, the best rehabilitation is to return to my duties. Because the war won't win itself."
And now – the part that makes your blood run cold.
The first time, his teeth were pulled out with pliers.
The second time – they were simply knocked out.
The drastic weight loss caused hormonal problems.
A broken arm. A broken leg. Nine broken ribs.
And scars on his arms and legs – from the handcuffs they used to suspend him.
He was in Olenivka.
Not in the barracks where the explosion happened – in the one next to it.
He remembers several explosions.
At first, they thought the administrative building had been hit. But when the fire started, from the second floor they could see: it was the industrial zone.
That same barracks.
The explosion was so powerful that pieces of roofing flew all the way to them.
Chudnetsov says a thermobaric charge was used inside. He believes it was no accident.
It was a demonstrative execution.
Medical assistance – zero.
On the guards' faces – not a trace of surprise.
They knew.
Our men begged them to let the combat medics out.
They refused.
Only an hour to an hour and a half later did they allow medics from the 55th hospital to come out.
The ambulances arrived toward morning.
When there was almost no point in coming anymore.
The treatment of Azov fighters was different.
They received three times more beatings than everyone else.
And Azov medics – even more.
The reason?
Propaganda.
The Russians invent their own stories – and then believe them themselves.
There is almost no information in captivity.
The only "truth" is whatever the interrogator or the FSB decides to tell you.
If he is in a good mood – he tells you something.
If he is in a bad mood – he says nothing.
Whether it is true or a lie – you have no way of knowing.
He learned about the exchange on the day of the exchange.
An hour before it happened – interrogation, protocols they did not even allow him to read.
During the night, they began opening cells and calling out names.
When they opened his – he heard his name.
The road home: plane, bus.
And the fear of allowing yourself to be happy.
Because this could have been not an exchange, but simply another prison transfer.
He thought he would be there for at least three years.
And still, he does not consider himself a hero.
He simply returned to do his job.
"The war won't win itself," he says.
Five words from a man who was tortured twice.
Read them again.
Because while someone says they are "tired of the war," this man, without his teeth and with broken ribs, returned to service.
He is not tired.
And we, all the more, have no right to be.

Four years ago today, Ukraine liberated Izium.
What was uncovered shocked the world: 447 graves, including 414 civilians and 5 children. Most died violently.
This is what russian occupation leaves behind.
Mass graves.
Never forget. Never forgive.
In today’s Vatnik Soup, we introduce Hans-Thomas Tillschneider @P_Plattform, a German AfD politician, Islamic-studies scholar & Putinversteher.
He’s best known for playing dumb over his Russian Army mug & for shaping the AfD program ahead of Sunday’s Sachsen-Anhalt election.1/21
A boy on his bike near Kramatorsk was just murdered by a russian drone. They posted this video of their crime. This is evidence this war has nothing to do with territory. It’s an attempt to wipe out an entire civilian population of an innocent county while the world watches.
Diiana Paslavska was 36.
russia killed her in Kryvyi Rih yesterday while she was simply at work.
She was a mother of two daughters.
Her husband is serving in the Ukrainian military.
She loved life. She had plans.
russia took everything from her. Remember her name.
Kremlin state media celebrates Russian gymnasts winning ‘more gold than the rest of Europe combined,’ turning a sporting result into a political statement. In this framing, victories serve as proof of national superiority.
In propaganda, a medal can carry a lot of political baggage.
Dear Pres Mbeki. Here’s the founder of “Donetsk People’s Republic”, Russian citizen Aleksandr Borodai saying the following:
- We didn’t intend to fulfil the Minsk agreements. They just gave us time to get ready” [for a bigger war].
Also, Mikhail Gorbachev personally said that the West never promised to him that NATO would never expand to the East.
Things that you are saying are not true. Please educate yourself about this very distant country that you never visited, called Ukraine. If what matters to you is truth and not your personal pro-Russian illusions.
@FurkanGozukara Why doesn’t Sachs ever have a discussion with someone who disagrees with him?
Oh right, because he's a pro-Kremlin propagandist and his arguments would be destroyed in seconds.
@KenraalitSuomi Exactly. Ukrainians should never again be used as cannon fodder for Moscow’s imperial wars.
The enemy was never Ukraine. The enemy was the empire holding Ukraine in chains. That is what russia is trying to do again now.
Recently, Twitch banned a number of russian streamers promoting Alabuga Politech — russia’s drone factory producing Shaheds to bomb Ukraine.
An obvious decision to remove those profiting from genocide, right?
Well, now all these accounts have been reinstated.
@Twitch, why?
