Man, a lot of people on here are f'n dense and don't get sarcasm. So I'll spell this out. Bragging about the rating for a tribute show is f'n weird, and that's what I was responding to (and no, I don't feel AEW or Dave have been doing that).
And for the idiots that couldn't tell, no, I don't want more tribute shows.
Until you have Max numbers, you don't have Max numbers. But if it were significant, you would think you'd see a big bump in attendance, because since AEW's existence, there has been a correlation between TV ratings and attendance. Here's a chart showing that, which I posted a couple of months ago
Regarding @davemeltzerWON saying there's never been any correlation between ratings and attendance, here's the attendance vs. ratings for #AEWDynamite since Q3 2021 (data via WrestleTix). There sure seems to be a general correlation to me.
#AEWDynamite saw a slight increase in total viewers from last week for the "Winter is Coming" show, however the P18-49 rating was tied with 3 other episodes for the second-lowest in show history.
Dynamite averaged 516K viewers (β¬οΈ 4% from last week) with a 0.09 P18-49 rating (even), per Programming Insider. As always, these numbers do not include the HBO Max simulcast.
Dynamite ranked #19 on cable on Wednesday.
Year-over-year, Dynamite was down 13% in total viewers, while the P18-49 rating was down 47%. Last year's episode was not simulcast on HBO Max, and was ranked using the old Nielsen "panel-only" system, which was more favorable for wrestling shows.
So why criticize Jimmy's question when this time was the exception to the last several PPVs?
I think it was clear that they loaded up the end of the show this time so people wouldn't switch to SNME. Which was smart. Why not be real about it?
explained in detail? there was literally nothing about it in the issue, lol! you wrote plenty about how dynamite could have gotten a 25% bump from the max airing π ππ€£
@EBischoff@MeltzerSaidWhat how do people take this guy seriously anymore?
There is a range. It's very confusing and all numbers are misleading to a degree. I just finished my article on the show and it'll be out tonight. It's explained in detail.
I'm just waiting for "Tony, how are you going to manage all the money from the new TV deal that makes you the owner of the second most profitable wrestling company in the history of the universe? And as a follow up, how can you walk around comfortably with such a huge cock?"
The classic Wrestling Observer AEW media scrum question, where they ask a Q that has a long, rambling preamble to it, frames the scenario for the person answering it, then establishes that the people who think this way are wrong & bad faith b/c everything is in fact, "GREAT!"
The first chart at Programming Insider each day has total viewers for cable and network. The very next chart has rankings by demo for both cable and network.
So you've never looked at a TV ratings chart in how many years? Also, even if it was true and it's not, cable charts and network charts are different to begin with.
He said it. You should probably apologize for falsely accusing someone of being a sex offender and delete your account. Really fucking embarrassing shit.
My prediction is that you don't bother apologizing to the guy you falsely accused of being a sex offender despite it looking nothing like him and living in another state. Secondary prediction is @fightful fires you for it.
The initial data we reported was PAL (Program Average Live) data only, meaning LIVE viewership only. The usual data includes delayed viewership for those watching later that night. Our source simply pulled the wrong data set.
@TrevorDame How is that low-key shivving AEW, he wasn't throwing any shade at them? He was questioning Dave's report, which after the fumbles he's made recently, more people should do
