I’m old enough to remember glory holes in out-of-the-way university bathroom stalls. When I first saw one I didn’t realize it had a purpose. The hole was repaired but someone cut a new one in the exact same place.
I was repulsed but understood, and stopped using that bathroom.
On the topic of the sexes not understanding each other, this is hilarious.
Every straight man who would never have sex with a man in a million years *instantly* understands the concept of Grindr.
A woman who explicitly wants to have sex with a man is totally at a loss.
It’s always been an ugly word, always an insult. The racial language “system” in the US South evolved to keep blacks subordinate and submissive, not angry and humiliated. It was subtle enough that white children often didn’t notice it and had to be taught it directly. It didn’t deny blacks status or prestige, because that would’ve been intolerable for them, but sandboxed it.
I wasn’t sure you weren’t kidding. I mean, the big one that jumps to mind is from 2004, when 60 Minutes II ran a fake story to rig the Presidential election against the GOP. And, more recently, in 2024 it doctored an interview with Kamala Harris to make it seem like her often incoherent answers to questions made sense.
@Imstillwthher@jbarro He is incredibly lucky. I found him extremely aggravating in the 80s and 90s, and I was horrified when he starting winning primaries in 2016, but I never thought he was anything but a massive success in a lot of different areas.
