@IanCrossland I mean, the Wright Brothers had a purpose to try and create controlled, sustained flight, and they had applications in mind through military and defense.
While this is cool, it doesn’t appear to have such forethought. And that is fine. Concepts don’t always do.
@TrueBlackTea@PastorCaleb@ianharber You don’t need to quote scripture to know that your beliefs come from it. Otherwise you’d have engaged with reality and not nonsense as “image bearer of God” and asked me about consciousness in the Bible. I told you to deal in objective reality and you refused
@lambo555@andyburnham There is no practical purpose for this. But there is a real practical purpose for the tech to make the car stick upside down that could be used in safety systems that could save lives.
@TrueBlackTea@PastorCaleb@ianharber Respectfully, you sound like any other negotiator of text trying to fit out of context verses to fit what you want to believe and think we should abide by your negotiation rather than objective reality.
@TheRealHondo99@bennyjohnson If you want to make the case that it is really state run capitalism, that’s fine. That is true as well. But innovations come from everywhere and under many conditions. And there is always a difference between car show vs practical purposes that matter.
@TheRealHondo99@bennyjohnson Strangely, satellites started thanks to Sputnik being launched by the USSR. A lot of rocket technology was started by the USSR. So Communism has had its innovations that were later made better. I hate Communism but let’s not erase history nor what China actively does.
@kangminlee Flying cars have been in development for years. Actual flying cars - not a plastic can with cold boosters attached. And spaceships and epic military technology has been a pretty bipartisan effort of government spending.
@TrueBlackTea@PastorCaleb@ianharber Scripture doesn’t really deal with objective reality and “image bearer” sounds like your way of setting up fake goal post. But I’d argue God is not a physical image but a spiritual one - and consciousness represents that spirit, not my physical body.
@TrueBlackTea@PastorCaleb@ianharber No. Most abortions take place before there are any qualities of a person existing, and long before consciousness exists.
@TrueBlackTea@PastorCaleb@ianharber Abortion isn’t murder.
But it kind of hits on the point that The Bible doesn’t speak on a lot of things that matter in a modern society but you want to use it and negotiate the text to the things you want it to say for whatever politics or identity you want it to fit.
