Interest in Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses
While the Meta Ray-Ban doesn’t have a display, it sparked tons of curiosity! Testers were impressed by how well it handles everyday tasks like taking photos, recording videos, listening to music, and making phone calls.
Taking part in Usability Tests has become a yearly tradition for us at Galactify.

This time, we brought our AR Prototype and here are our three biggest takeaways
2) AR brings new design challenges
In our browser version, users never had trouble finding the Add block button in the bottom-left corner. But in AR, “screen space” is 360° around you! Most users didn’t turn their heads far enough to notice the big “+” button.
1) Testing the device vs. the prototype
Most testers were using Meta's Quest 3 for the very first time, so we found ourselves testing more the headset experience than our prototype! It’s a great reminder of how early and new this technology is for many users.
One of our tests of Galactify on the Apple Vision Pro. The eye movement measurement for zooming in where you want to go is really mind-blowing and intuitive. Currently it runs in the browser, but we're working on native Apps and are super hyped about Spatial Computing right now!
One of the first use cases for Galactify was the creation and editing of nested diagrams. Whether for technical tasks or process management, our 3D zooming UI opens up new ways to fly through diagrams, from the the picture into the smallest detail.
Galactify Blocks can be connected. The connections work in 3 dimensions and over multiple layers.
We are currently building in features to follow connections and get a more intuitive view of which block is connected other blocks.
Galactify blocks are intelligent. Galactify blocks are not just containers—they're dynamic data hubs! They can hold individual data and help you arrange, sort, or filter effortlessly. This makes it easy to create boards, matrices and more and switch back and forth between them.
Galactify Blocks are not only plain shapes of course. They can contain content like images, text, files, etc. Our vision is that Blocks can be anything you want them to be. There will be ways to individualize them completely.
We built a tool that gives you a space to create "Blocks".
Blocks in their most basic form are simply shapes that can be arranged (in 3 dimensions if you wish).
The magic: Everything is nestable .. so just zoom out and you have an entire 3D space neatly in one Block.

I definitely have a lot less headaches than before, when we had solved it ourselves with cronjobs. 😅
Things like timeouts, server restarts, long running tasks (e.g. call stuff once a year), retries can get really dicy..

With nodes that can contain anything from images, to html to more complex things.. also it’s nestable so you can put nodes into nodes into nodes..
I hope more interfaces like that are coming 🥰
The rule of Pi also fits in very well with this: when estimating what something (especially in coding and complex problem-solving scenarios) costs or how long it will take to complete, just multiply your estimate by 3.14, and voilà, you've got a more realistic timeline.
There is a golden rule that I have come across again and again in my time as a coder and founder, and now I have discovered that it even has a name. Hofstadter's law: "It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law." 😄
