@lifeofmoe93@kiradavis There’s something to be said for the “lizard brain” part of us keeping us from doing stupid things, and maybe it’s useful for learning sometimes. But if a husband said, “My wife called me an asshole once, I smacked her and she never said it again” .. is that really “success”?

I’m all for establishing boundaries, and even letting kids/teens know that their parents are people too, and have a breaking point. If you poke a horse, you get kicked... it means you know not to poke the horse. 1/2
@itsmedevclev Thoughts on phrasing it as “following”, vs “submission?” Submission seems like a power thing, ie you’re forced to give up, you’ve been overpowered, as opposed to following, which gives the impression that you’ve found a leader that you want to empower by supporting them

Um... ???one means not knowing about something, while the other is literally “the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically”
@ZacSmall_ While I get what your trying to say, and I think the answer isn’t simple...the reason the protests started at all is “preventable pain by citizens [that was] endured” for so long, that they can’t any more
