@hex30791 You keep ignoring the point. There is no reason outside of racism to not just use the default model and donβt whitewash her and still give her the same outfit, hair, ect. Rivals shouldnβt whitewash the character like MCU is doing.
@hex30791 And again why should Rivals stay βaccurateβ to the MCU when MCU isnβt accurate? And whether I use the skin or not, doesnβt change the fact that it is still whitewashing which is straight up racism.
@hex30791 And again why should Rivals stay βaccurateβ to the MCU when MCU isnβt accurate? And whether I use the skin or not, doesnβt change the fact that it is still whitewashing which is straight up racism.
@hex30791@wiickling MCU isnβt accurate to the source material. Therefore why should Rivals whitewash the character like the MCU when they are already using accurate model for her? And unfortunately in this game, characters get skins only when you buy them
@WizardAugust@wiickling Raβs Al Ghul was also not confirmed to be Arab and Chinese in his first appearance, does that mean he isnβt? Magneto was not confirmed to be Jewish in his first appearance, does that mean he isnβt Jewish. Oh no, in 10% of Wandaβs appearances, she had no background. Stupid excuses
@WizardAugust@wiickling She was teased from the beginning but confirmed later. That is not a retcon since it doesnβt go against the build up story she had so far and she has been confirmed Romani for 70-80% of her appearances till today. Just accept it at this point
@WizardAugust@wiickling Her first backstory was literally living in Eastern Europe village in 60s where she was discriminated and called a βwitchβ as majority of Romani people and no matter if it was bc of her βmutantsβ abilities it is still problematic stereotype used many times for Romani people
@krolyamaximoff There are many reasons why she was drawn with lighter skin. She has been Romani for decades and correctly drawn with brown olive skin. There is no reason to still get whitewashed. Yβall donβt understand that whitewashing her now is just straight up racism
@WizardAugust@wiickling Just bc characterβs background hasnβt been revealed from the beginning, that doesnβt mean it isnβt theirs. And again problematic Romani stereotypes has been used on Wanda literally in her first appearance. She has been confirmed Romani from almost 50 years and is portrayed as such
@WizardAugust@wiickling There is no white country. As I said Romani people have been living in Europe for centuries. She was never said to be white, many POC characters were drawn white due to colors limitations, colourism and artists not doing research on the characters, yet they are not white.
@WizardAugust@wiickling Thatβs not true. Not all of us are. Romani people have lived in Europe for centuries and most of them live in Eastern Europe.
@WizardAugust@wiickling She was never called to be white. In her first appearance she had no background but problematic Romani stereotypes were used on her. Since late 70s she has been confirmed to be Romani woman and has been till today.
@hex30791@wiickling It is the same thing and that logic makes no sense. If MCU doesnβt want to be accurate to the source material why should Rivals be accurate to them when they are already accurate to the source material
