@girlyxena I was born in Alberta, have lived here all my 51 years, and I am so pissed with the Federal government! If many, many things don't change I would rather have an independent Alberta or move somewhere else!
The Social Media Ban Affects Every Canadian — Even Those Who Don't Use Them
They're calling it a social media ban for kids under 16.
But if you think this doesn't affect you because you don't use Facebook or TikTok — think again.
YouTube. Reddit. Substack. WhatsApp. Signal. Amazon. TripAdvisor. Even news sites with a comment section could fall under the definition of social media.
And to enforce this ban, every single Canadian will have to attach government-approved ID to every platform they use.
That's is not about protection children.
It's about implementing a digital ID for every Canadian.

This is Canada in 2026.
Palestine protesters in Montreal openly displaying an effigy of a man being hanged in the middle of the street — and the police stand there doing nothing. The government stays silent. The media looks the other way.
If a Canadian born and raised here did this, they’d be in handcuffs for a hate crime before the sun went down. But when it’s people who weren’t even born in this country pushing foreign rage on our streets, it’s suddenly “protected expression.”
This isn’t tolerance. This is cowardice dressed up as multiculturalism.
We’ve imported millions who don’t share our values, then refused to enforce the law equally. Now we’re told to stay quiet, walk on eggshells, and pretend this is normal. It’s not.
The people running this country are either too scared or too compromised to defend basic Canadian decency. And the media that’s supposed to expose this garbage is busy hiding it.
Enough.
If you’re disgusted by this, say so. Loudly. Because the longer we stay polite about unacceptable behaviour, the more of it we’re going to get.

Canada's New Social Media Ban is NOT About Your Children | Here's What They're NOT Telling You
Canada just announced the Digital Safety Act — a social media ban for anyone under 16.
Most Canadians think this is about protecting children. It isn't.
To enforce a social media ban, every single Canadian will have to prove their age by attaching government-approved ID to their social media accounts. That's not child protection. That's a digital ID.
And once you're verified on one platform, that verification follows you everywhere — linking every account you own under your real identity.
But it gets worse.
This isn't a standalone policy. This is the missing piece that connects Bill C-9, C-22 and C-8 into a complete surveillance and censorship system.
Bill C-9 defines what you can and cannot say online. Bill C-22 forces platforms to save your data for up to one year. Bill C-8 gives the government the power to cut you off the internet entirely.
The digital ID created by this social media ban is what connects all three.
And they're selling it to you as child protection.
Don't be fooled. All these bills are interconnected — and this is the last piece of the puzzle.

To Canada's leaders who keep calling for "national unity" (i.e. Pierre Poilievre)
Unity isn't something you demand. It's something you earn.
If you're serious about keeping Canada together, put your money where your mouth is. Address the concerns that millions of Albertans have been raising for decades:
• End equalization wealth redistribution
• Give Alberta fair representation in the House of Commons
• Reform the Senate and make it elected
• Respect provincial jurisdiction over health care, resources, and taxation
• Give provinces greater control over immigration
A stronger Canada is built on fairness, respect, and autonomy... not on expecting one region to simply accept the status quo.
Canada now has full-time workers living in Highway 401 carpool parking lots. They're not unemployed. They're not refusing to work. They're working, showering, sleeping in trailers, and hoping to save enough for first and last month's rent. Meanwhile politicians celebrate population growth, record housing targets, and labour shortages. The reality is working Canadians are being priced out of their own country.
Sitting in a Mom and Pop Coffee Shop in Kelowna by myself. The atmosphere was pleasant, pictures dawned every corner of the shop. Memories of days past. Plants and flowers brought a delightful colour to the space. I found a small table next to a window.
Across from me was a table of 15 people, seniors and I’m guessing their middle aged children came down for a family outing. Age range was 95-22. ( guessing,I did hear one of them say ole Grandma B was gonna be 95.)
The conversation was about the Liberal Party. After listening a while I realized BC is far more based than I thought. The great grandmother was the loudest of them all, spunky old bird. She bellowed, “ I remember when we grabbed our politicians by the throat and drag them through town while the people threw rocks and fruit at them. I remember ropes and trees for traitorous politicians”. “This gawd damn country needs a Lee Harvey Oswald moment to get these sons of bitches in line”! She then proceeded to bang the table with her hand. “My husband,God Rest His Soul”. He did not die for this Country and our Freedom to have it stripped away”! Her daughter ( I believe) leaned over and whispered something in her ear that seemed to calm her. I saw a family in agreement with her. I saw a family worried about the future of Canada. Also to my surprise Alberta Independence came up. They also agreed that Alberta should separate from Canada. They also stated they would move back to Alberta if it happened.
When Canadian Families gather and the topic of conversation is the demise of Canada and its ill fated leaders,I can guarantee that other families across Canada, have had the same conversation. Repeatedly.
Our Politicians should tread lightly.
Last time I heard a conversation like that,Pierre Trudeau was in power. Canada was on the brink of a revolt.
Our Politicians better dummy up,it’s not like Canadians to speak this way. You know you’ve gone too far when they are talking about the Train Yard.
We are NOT as docile as they may think.
Their arrogance will be their downfall.
The Globe and Mail is now running opinion pieces about cutting elderly benefits because Canada faces “crippling debt.”
Perfect.
Not cut bureaucracy.
Not cut consultants.
Not cut foreign aid.
Not cut corporate welfare.
Not cut the Liberal spending machine.
Not cut the political class that created the debt bomb.
No.
Cut grandma.
That is how this always works.
Trudeau, Freeland, Carney, and the Liberal Party help bury Canada under debt.
Then the establishment media starts preparing Canadians for the “unpopular” solution.
The people who built the mess never pay.
The elderly get handed the invoice.
Canada was robbed by incompetence.
Now seniors are being told to sacrifice.
Brilliant system.
