We'll write a lot about Lavonte David's career in coming days, but the stat that always pops out to me: 177 career tackles for loss, tied for fourth most in NFL history, which is insane for a player whose primary job wasn't to rush the passer. Next closest LB? Urlacher with 138.
Failed is quite the reach pal. Still waiting on a text/call from him after I got shipped off like a piece of garbage. Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach.
Eagles vs. Buccaneers: Strengths and Weaknesses
I understand Eagles fans being nervous about this game. The Eagles seem to always lose in Tampa and it usually isn’t even close. If there has been any thing close to kryptonite for Sirianni and Hurts it’s been the Bucs.
But are we sure the Bucs are that good?
They aren’t top 10 in any meaningful offensive or defensive stat. They have beaten three teams that are a combined 1-8. Their offensive line is a mess with basically every single projected starter playing out of position or not playing. They are going to be without Mike Evans and it’s possible Chris Godwin as well.
The only real concerns on field in this game are Baker Mayfield and Todd Bowles blitzing. Bowles has blitzed Hurts and the Eagles at an unreal clip, bringing extra pressure on seemingly every snap the last four matchups. For an offensive line already dealing with issues with communication, being on the same page with blitzes will be key.
The final concern? The heat. The Eagles are obviously concerned about it, leaving a day early to go to Tampa to adjust to it. They struggled in the heat last year and talked about needing to deal with it better during training camp. This will be the test they have been working and preparing for.
The Eagles are better than the Bucs. The question is whether that matters or if the Bucs just have their number and the heat is too much to handle.
Before Brady, there was a long stretch of #Bucs fans not having much to cheer for. Mike Evans was one of the few reasons to tune in every week.
He never complained. He could have left - he never did. He's played hurt constantly. Lifted a fanbase. Ray Jay thanking him today.
