Declan Rice can play anywhere because he’s the most versatile player on the planet. However having watched him do a job at right back against DR Congo, we’ve also watched him not work in that role for Arsenal on numerous occasions.
Rice should not be shoehorned to fulfil a role because the one player who we have brought who is on the level to play there has hamstrings made of cheese. Not bringing Trent to this World Cup was the most stupid decision I’ve seen in years from a squad selection, followed up by bringing Djed Spence who looks like he’s won a cereal box competition to play at this World Cup.
Konsa at right back with Stones coming in is probably the best thing to run from now on unless Reece James gets himself fit.
Make it make sense Arsenal fans.
A performing 30-year-old Trossard should be sold because "he's in his prime and this is the best time to cash in."
A 29-year-old Bruno Guimarães, who reportedly struggled with injuries for large parts of last season, should be bought for a huge fee because "he will take us to the next level."
But a 28-year-old Martin Ødegaard, our captain, who had a dip in form largely caused by injury disruptions, should suddenly be sold because "he's getting old."
The inconsistency in these arguments is genuinely fascinating.
Let's look at the facts:
2025/26 Season
Bruno Guimarães:
• 29 Premier League appearances
• 7 Champions League appearances
Martin Ødegaard:
• 24 Premier League appearances
• 8 Champions League appearances
The appearance gap isn't some massive difference that justifies treating one as durable and the other as finished.
What I find funny is that some people are willing to excuse every concern around Bruno because he's the shiny new toy, but the moment it comes to Ødegaard, everything is magnified. Every poor game becomes evidence that he's declining. Every injury becomes proof that he's no longer reliable.
When it comes to Trossard, the argument is "sell him while his value is high."
So we are buying another team's old player whose value is still high? They must be so happy
This is so unfair to Gyökeres in every possible way you want to look at it.
I don't think a player who had 1 open play goal in his last 25 Laliga games deserves this hype, Infact he scored 2 goals in is last 25 Laliga games (one from the spot and the other from open play), a player of that kind shouldn't be worth the headache.
I was genuinely thinking the anonymous player was Vinicius Jr. or a serious superstar..
Gyökeres is the first striker in the Emirates era that gave Arsenal the premier league title scoring 14 goals inhis first season and he was the highest scoring premier league striker in 2026., he indeed had a rough start but it was evident to all how he has adapted to how Arsenal play..
If Alvarez deal doesn't involve Gyökeres then it's a perfect one as he will be a great addition but if it involves touching the swedish striker then it makes absolutely no sense to me..
Imagine being Gyokeres right now.
- Did everything you could to get a move to Arsenal. Broke up with girlfriend, gave up some money, etc
- Led them to their first title in years, scoring the most goals in the team whilst your supporting cast was injured throughout the season
- Currently having a good world cup campaign.
Then you come and see the fanbase rooting for your departure, and who do they want in your place?
- A striker with less goals than you (playing in La Liga)
- An injury prone striker
- Not even a starter for his nation
All because you are not flexible and can’t flick a few balls here and there.
God punish all of you
Max Dowman, keep your head held high. 16-years old and you looked twice the player of your teammates. You didn’t deserve to be on the losing side tonight.
We don’t need both Rice and Zubimendi against some of the weaker teams at home man.
I’d love to see more of Eze and Saka as dual 10s with in-form Madueke at RW.
Bring back real hoops.
Gabriel Martinelli is perennially underappreciated. Does things nobody else in our team can do. Always a threat, never stops running. He’s been so good this season, accepted his role, not complained, and delivered consistently in big moments.
•Broke up with his girlfriend just to move to London and play for Arsenal
• Rejected Manchester United and also the chance to reunite with his former coach, Amorim. United offered a higher transfer fee to Sporting and a better salary than we did.
• Rejected a salary offer from a Saudi club which triples what he currently earns at Arsenal.
• Gave up €3m of his salary with Sporting just to push for a move to Arsenal.
All of the sacrifices just to be hated by the fan base of the club he did everything to join.
I’ll back you till the very end. Viktor Einar Gyökeres.
🗣️ Cesc Fabregas: "The number 10 position is disappearing. Players of the caliber of Özil or James Rodriguez no longer interest coaches. These players are capable of unlocking a match with a brilliant pass, but nowadays, the coach prefers a stable structure.
When Conte arrived at Chelsea, I started to understand what modern football was: a lot of running, split sessions, robotic training...
I couldn't believe it. I was in shock, because I've always been a player who relied on creativity, which for me is the best thing in the arts."
Eze scored the only goal that helped us beat Palace
Eze scored a hat trick that helped us beat Tottenham
Eze was a key player to Arsenal destroying Bayern
To move him from the middle to left wing to fit in Ødegaard is CRIMINAL
Myles Lewis-Skelly was penalised for bringing down Jack Harrison in the box... but was the ref right with his penalty decision? 🤔
Here are the thoughts of the #MOTD pundits! Do you agree?
