It wears new masks in modern India, hiding behind bureaucratic rivalry, mob suspicion, or religious outrage. But peel away these layers, and the same truth stares back — caste still determines who suffers, who is silenced, and who gets away.

Education and jobs may counter inequality, but they cannot erase hierarchy. Justice Gavai may hold the highest judicial office, yet the social order remains unshaken.

The question before us is not whether caste exists, but whether we still have the resolve — Babasaheb’s resolve — for its annihilation.
