For over a decade, World Read Aloud Day has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read-aloud!
Our 4th grade students in Mrs. McLain's class had the opportunity to meet with illustrator John Parra today. Besides reading a book to the students, he taught them how to do a self-portrait using directed drawing.
Thank you to Reading Heart for coming to McCardle to share their passion for reading. After the assembly, each student was given the opportunity to choose, and take home a book. STAY TUNED.....McCardle will soon have a little free library installed soon !

Today wrapped up The Great Kindness Challenge Week. Our students got to take part in stories of kindness during library time. They were all given to the chance to design their own cup with their ideas of how they can be kind. Way to go Mustangs!!
