On top of having hypermobile EDS diagnosis and #MCAS diagnosis, Emilia also struggled with two aneurysms and survived brain surgery.
She is a true inspiration for a lot of us with chronic conditions. Even celebrities with massive budgets and the best doctors are still struggling
Ariana Grande has been going viral for her latest appearance sparking rumours of Eating disorder.
We love Ariana's new album and we are in no way body shaming her but we do also understand the concern questioning if it is healthy for her and as a role model for young girls.
If what the frontier labs are looking for is to generate positive PR, Anthropic and Open AI should fund women’s health research, infrastructure, data collection.
The ROI on countering current negative perception of AI will be huge.
For the record, a new hate on AI is forming with middle age women who are having a hard time finding a job from “Algorithmic Bias”. Look it up, “midlife age women are facing a crisis and the culprit is AI”. A former fashion editor in the UK is currently on a press tour on this line
Want to counter this? Help resolve menopause!
I know in philanthropic circles malaria & vaccines which index high on DALY (Disability-Adjusted Life Years) are preferred causes. “Reproductive health” is for many a non-starter though if you look closely it is obvious that the downstream effect of not researching female hormones and ovaries are top causes of DALYs in females. And to be precise, they are more than for reproduction.
I know the assumption exists that Melinda Gates has solved the issue of “women’s health” but that’s one funder and that means only Gates gets the upstream effect of that positive perception.
And again we are talking PR, not about X and/or the same circle of people who talk to each other.
Women make consumer decisions, if you have women on your side, you have consumer good will and positive perception.
Currently writing about this at length. And yes, we are obviously ready @athenabiorg to help with this.
Emilia Clarke is talking about the connection between #hEDS and #MCAS
This shows you how these interconnected conditions can hit anyone and can be difficult to diagnose even for celebrities with a massive budget.
In a podcast, Zara Larsson talks about how she flares up on big days and how her body seems to get really sick whenever something important is happening.
For so many of us with #hypermobility, #ADHD or #Autism, that feels incredibly familiar.
The protocols, supplements, and peptides that can reverse or delay menopause.
The @kristenvbrown article on @business inspired my latest newsletter post about my new favorite term “meno-mania”.
It is the definitive guide! 🔗👇
This annoys me so much.
Everyone acknowledges menopause is trending but a lot of the capital is going to products, influencers, slogans, and holistic MDs. Not to research or science that could really change things.
Ultimately everyone wants what to buy and what to do TODAY. And many will sell it to you happily even though it is placebo.
Menopause does not cause you to die like cancer though in the extreme women have committed suicide. However, it wrecks women’s bodies and health and imagine we only treated cancer with supplements, food, or a guru that promises holistic care.
This is the course of action Steve Jobs took for his cancer and he regretted not going for the conventional medical treatment. The things researcher and science developed.
I am not building a personal brand so we can get speaking gigs, or sell you a product, or a protocol, so that I am famous or rich.
I built an organization with other amazing mission aligned people to support impactful research so that one day women have more options.
This is the way @athenabiorg. It’s not the popular way, or the buy a product way, but it is the long game way.
Great turnout for "Menopause and Fertility" last week.
We had Cremieux @cremieuxrecueil on bio x AI, Dr. Mario Cordero @CorderoMarioD on fertility-extending drugs, Dr. Kutluk Oktay @kutlukoktay on ovarian cryopreservation, and Riva Tez @rivatez on gentler approaches to fertility medicine.
Lots of good discussion on where the current tools fall short and what's actually being worked on to change that.
Hear from @cremieuxrecueil as to the interest in healthspan for menopause👇
