Terfs are homophobic.
TERFs are not only hostile to trans people. Their politics are rooted in homophobia as well. They cannot be trusted with the safety, wellbeing, or future of any part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
They do not speak for us. They do not protect us. They do not represent our lives, our histories, or our relationships. Their ideology is built on exclusion, suspicion and punishment of anyone who does not conform to rigid ideas about gender and sexuality.
That hostility does not stop at one group. It never has and never will. When you listen to their arguments closely, they are hostile to queer relationships, queer families, queer bodies, and queer joy in all its forms.
This is why they should not be treated as credible voices on LGBTQIA+ issues. They are not acting in good faith. They are not interested in coexistence. They are driven by resentment and control, not care.
Our communities deserve solidarity, not people who divide us and call it protection.
Imagine if the BBC wrote an article about a black person and decided to crowbar in a quote from a prominant white supremacist whining about skull shapes and race pseudoscience.
I GUARANTEE if the BBC ran a story on a trans person whose life had been saved and made happier by transitioning, Michael Prescott would insist on ‘gender critical’ views being included.
If however the BBC ran a story that was anti-trans, Prescott would not insist it included the trans perspective.
This is his version of BBC “balance” and “impartiality”.
Nearly all terfs are white, middle-class and middle age. You can tell hating innocent trans people has become the thing the fills their empty lives. A hobby. They are in a cult and this is a frenzy. Even though they would absolutely cheer if a trans woman was beaten up right in front of them, some of these people are victims too. There’s a deep sadness and pathetic-ness about them. They remind me of blokes who dress up to do war re-enactments. The few younger ones who attend all have that far-away, manic look found in churches and Apple stores.
Incredible really, that in my 44 years of Life, Not a single Political Party has ever Got into power By actually wanting to make life better for people in the UK.
Passports already work perfectly well.
There’s no justification for changing the system in a way that would forcibly out trans people and put them at greater risk of abuse.
At this point, people like Maya might as well be calling for trans people to wear pink triangles.
@Konstan77134121 @britishpoles They had seen so much in their lives. By the time my father was 23 he had escaped being shot at Katyn and sent to Siberia before joining with Gen Anders.
@Ed_Miliband We really want reliable and cheap energy, Ed.
Due to the madness of Net Zero, the U.K. will increasingly be importing ‘dirty’ and expensive power from Europe when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing.
@____Foxtrot____ Coastal communities are not a demographic #Liebour care about; they’ll criple what’s left of our fishing industry without a second thought
"The commitment and enthusiasm shown by SDP members and activists throughout the country was both moving and much appreciated. It augurs well for the party's future."
Hear, hear!
Supply exceeds demand 64% of the time, so, lacking any suitable storage technology, we'd be throwing out 120 TWh of power, worth well over £10 billion, every year. That's perhaps £500 per household chucked down the drain.
London does not need a new dormitory town; UK needs a new administrative capital city, somewhere ‘brown field’ or ALC4 or higher where new housing won’t be at the cost of useful agricultural land.
Another London commuter belt dormitory town is the very last thing we need - especially that far out of London. The proposal itself is a symptom of policy failure.
Govt should ensure sport is observed within the national curriculum to the age of 16 & encourage provision of community sport grounds.
Poss tax relief for amateur sport assocs to encourage activity.
Govt has no role in professional sports, which are commercial entities.
