@Socdem_Michael No republican will vote for Steyer. The appeal of Becerra here is that he's incompetent. For a republican, Steyer is the worst combination of a competent idiot. He has a horrible policy platform for conservatives, yet he clearly knows how to get stuff done.
@harryh@Jesse_Leg@micsolana I didn't say Hilton will be great for housing. What I implied was that Steyer will be abysmal for housing and will codify CA's current issues with the matter.
@harryh@Jesse_Leg@micsolana Great evidence that what people say carries little weight. If it isnt clear to you that a Hilton governorship would result in more building and lower prices than a Steyer one, I don’t know what to tell you.
@Jesse_Leg Agree, YIMBY is earned not bought (I am not alluding to the billionaire criticism of Steyer - I don’t care). You aren’t a YIMBY by saying you will build, you’re a YIMBY by implementing policies which will actually result in building
I thought I was a YIMBY, but maybe not?
Because there is no world in which it makes sense that the "most YIMBY" candidate is the socialist-endorsed billionaire who supports keeping government-mandated rent regulations in place, expanding eviction protections, exclusively building with union labor, and insane climate and land-use regulations that make housing more expensive and harder to build.
If your top priority is rapidly increasing housing production in California, the strongest candidates in this field are Steve Hilton and Matt Mahan.
@kerwin65230@big_pedestrian The post is about the land right next to the train track. Being right next to a train -should- make a location more desirable than a place 1/4mi away. It’s an apples to oranges comparison.
@Capitalist_Rick Realtors (the people who sell new homes) are donating to the other guy, but I am the one who will build the new homes. What a self report.
@SamitoFPS You can admit in retrospect that you were wrong about 5v5 and it was never a good idea, never had good intentions, and never was going to pan out
@interpretantion People on this site are misrepresenting game theory. In fact, (all blue) and (all red) are both nash equilibra. However, (most blue) is robust to some deviation, making it the best choice. Game theory actually selects blue!
