@iamcardib People love saying take accountability, but when someone apologizes publicly, privately, and repeatedly, many still don't want accountability they want a villain.
Coco Gauff: "I'm not going to apologise for the way that my hair looks because there are other girls who have the exact same hair as me.
"My hair was good enough for a high fashionable brand like Miu Miu. If my hair is good enough for that, then yours is too."
Right on! 👏🏾👏🏾
the meanest thing you do to yourself is pretend you don’t want the things you want. shrink the desire before anyone can see it. call it unrealistic before someone else does. and then walk around with this low grade starvation you can’t name because you buried the appetite so deep even you forgot where you put it. wanting things is dangerous. I know. it opens you up to disappointment and to looking foolish and to reaching for something that might not reach back. want it anyway. the alternative is a life of pretending you’re full.
Black-owned bookstores in the U.S. now have their own directory for the first time ever, launched by the nonprofit National Association of Black Bookstores — who found that:
• There are 306 Black-owned bookstores nationwide (8% of independent bookstores)
• 14 states have no Black-owned bookstore
• Nearly 90% report annual revenue at under $250,000
• Sales of books by Black authors declined by 14%, despite an increase in overall print sales

just wanna say that ME, a little Black girl from Louisiana, has used this app to raise almost $1 MILLION for women and girls and have
- put 58 women through college
- given 12,000 women organic menstrual products
- paid the rents and mortgages of 3 dozen women
I’m really out here https://t.co/TicJOdXtjz

The danger of pseudo intellectualism is that we are no longer evaluating ideas by their rigor, but by their delivery. We have been conditioned to reward the appearance of intelligence over the substance of it. I challenge you to ask the questions: Who benefits from this idea? What evidence supports it? What’s being simplified… or omitted? Healthy public discourse doesn’t silence voices, but it should raise the standard of what we accept as truth.
Same ones complaining about the Super Bowl being in Spanish with no subtitles are the same ones that say subtitles are a distraction and never add subtitles on their own videos. But let me mind my business 🤭 #SuperBowl#BadBunny
On this day in 2018 the great singer of The Cranberries Dolores O'Riordan passed away.
In her honor, here is one of her greatest performances, "Zombie" in 1999.
