I had the incredible pleasure of meeting BUZA Youth Football Academy during their training session in Ilford, where they are dedicated to investing in young people by providing an inclusive space for children of all abilities and backgrounds to come together, achieve their goals, learn from one another, and enjoy the beautiful game of football.⚽️
Wishing everyone celebrating a very happy and blessed Eid al-Adha.
May this special occasion bring peace, happiness, good health and barakah to you and your families.
Wishing all my friends and neighbours celebrating in Ilford South and beyond Eid Al-Adhar Mubarak.
May the spirit of sacrifice and gratitude fill your heart this Eid and may your home be filled with joy!
From my family to yours, happy Eid.

STUDENT LOANS UPDATE
Recently, the Treasury Select Committee launched an inquiry into student loans.
You might remember that they issued a call for evidence, which closed on 14th April.
To supplement the inquiry, I wrote to the Treasury Select Committee Chair to outline my concerns with the current loan system.
This will provide the Committee with a local, Ilford South perspective on how unfair loans are impacting graduates.
I will keep fighting for a fairer loan system for students and graduates in Ilford and across the UK.

Congratulations to Harneek Kaur and Rishi Sharma Bhagi on their election as Mayfield ward councillors. 🌹
Thank you as well to all our residents, members, volunteers, and supporters - and to Cllr Tanweer Khan (@KHA4N) for his dedicated service to Mayfield over the last 4 years.
Our next advice surgery will be at Goodmayes Library on Saturday (2 May 2026) from 11 AM to 12 PM.
Please do pop down to see us if you have any local issues you wish to discuss.
No appointment necessary.
Mayfield Labour has today asked @RedbridgeIndys
to explain the timeline around @cllrbegum's resignation as a magistrate - and why the “Justice of the Peace” title continued to be used afterwards.
We’ve requested answers by 6 PM tomorrow.
🚨Local elections are *local* and about our area and the place we call home.
Parks, Schools, Social Care, Children’s Services, Civic Pride, Libraries, Youth Services, Housing and our community.
Don’t risk our area with a coalition of division, chaos and incompetence.
Happy St George’s Day!
A day to celebrate England - its history, its people, and the values we carry forward: courage, integrity, and standing up for what is right.
Proud of where we’ve come from - and determined about where we’re going.
As we celebrate Vaisakhi, we recognise the powerful values at the heart of the festival: gratitude, humility, equality, and service to others.
Wishing all Sikh residents and everyone celebrating a peaceful and joyous Vaisakhi.
I see the Redbridge conservatives are putting these leaflets out. Same old Tories pitting bits of the borough against each other.
All this shows is they no longer are interested in running the whole borough, and would go into coalition with the independents as soon as they can.
🌹 Mayfield Labour Candidates Announced 🌹
We’re proud to announce our fantastic Labour team for Mayfield in the 2026 local elections, Cllr Tanweer Khan, Harneek Kaur, and Rishi Sharma Bhagi.
