We are delighted to share highlights from the fourth session of the IMG Success Series, a collaborative initiative by MRFA Florida and the GIM International Practice. This series is designed to empower International Medical Graduates (IMGs) as they prepare for the 2025–2026 Residency Match and their transition into U.S. medical practice.
For this session, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Adrian González Gil, who matched into Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and went on to complete an Endocrinology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida.
Dr. González Gil shared invaluable insights on: ✅ How to excel in the residency interview process ✅ Strategies to highlight your strengths as an IMG ✅ Lessons learned from his own match journey and fellowship experience ✅ Engaging Q&A with participants, addressing real challenges faced by IMGs

The Department of General Internal Medicine is proud to highlight Dr. Pamila Brar’s outstanding presentation at the Florida Department of Medicine Medical Grand Rounds, titled “The Future May Be Longer Than You Think: Longevity Medicine.”
Dr. Brar recently joined Mayo Clinic Florida’s General Internal Medicine Depattment @MayoGIMFL and serves as the Medical Director of the new Longevity Program, leading efforts to advance personalized preventive and longevity-focused care.
Before joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. Brar held key leadership roles at Human Longevity (HLI) in San Diego, where she helped develop and expand precision health programs integrating genomics, advanced imaging, and personalized wellness strategies. She earned her M.D. from Louisiana State University and completed her Internal Medicine residency and Chief Residency at Scripps Clinic.
