This plant is 73 acres. It will produce 25,000 units initially and expand to 50,000 units seamlessly in Phase 2.

Investment brings in LATEST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY with knowledge transfer (Suzuki is still selling cars with hand rolled windows 😭). Plant is geared for export as well allowing you to earn dollars as you indigenise value chains in mining, batteries, auto….

The oil guzzling local companies know they are beat. There were 100+ EV charging stations a year ago. Today there are over 2000. The EV Revolution is irreversible. So they’re trying the only route they know how. Using powerful advisors and ministers to put pressure on government to double the duty on EV CBU’s so as to kill this massive dream in the womb.

The banking scams in Pakistan are becoming very sophisticated.

People now call from official ISI, MI, FIA numbers. They’re not but it appears that way because of ID spoofing. They’ll say go ahead Google number.

They will know your account number, your exact balance and your cnic number.

They’ll often say they need access to your account because suspicious transaction has gone from your account to a banned organization.

They will then have someone call you from your own branch. (Again ID spoofing). They’ll sometimes ask you to enter OTP in your app or sometimes give to them.

Just never entertain anyone over the phone ever. Tell them to come arrest you.

It’s 1999. Mosharraf has not yet done his coup. I’m in Dhaka on my first trip there looking for a place to live. I’m shifting to Dhaka to run the @LEVIS sourcing operation there. Trip had ended. I was on my way back. I was late.

I go to airport and stand in line. It was I guess a line for all flights of Biman. I was in line for a LONG time. Line behind me was also long! Classic, South Asia airport queue at peak times at turn of century, issues.

I finally get to the front and present my passport and ticket and the girl behind the counter looks at me aghast! “Why didn’t you come straight to me!” She asked astonishingly. “I’m sorry I was in line” I said. Boarding had closed she said. I wasn’t getting on the flight.

My face fell. I just had enough dollars for the trip. I was out. Not being able to go was a disaster not to mention the Asia boss gave this assignment and I would look like a total moron in front of him when HR told him. Which they would. Because that’s how they rolled.

Lady behind the counter who worked for Biman looked at my crestfallen face and said “Do you have checkin luggage?” I said no. She stood up motioned to me and said “Let’s go”. There’s a 20 person line behind me! They look at her in shock as she just leaves the line and…. RUNS.

I’m running behind her. She pushes me through immigration, she gets me through all checks. The ladder is still attached. The door is closed. She bangs on the door. Gets it opened. Deposits me inside. Leaves.

Sher ki bachi! Legend.

27 years onwards. Still love Biman to death. It’s not an airline. It’s a spirit to serve so strong it will move the universe for you.
