Tonight’s my last council meeting at @HyattsvilleMD. It’s bittersweet.
My last order of business: urging the council to set a limit on fines for parking citations.
Failure to pay 75¢ at the meter should not result in a $140 fine.

@RoDawg419 Yes it does. We have been reallocating resources across the board over the last 6 years. A large part is that we’ve tried to do this without increasing property taxes. This is also an important issue because...1/2
@RoDawg419 I hear you. This isn’t to brush away the need for community investment. We will continue working to attract external investments like those you mention. Please keep the recommendations coming. I appreciate it.
@RoDawg419 In our FY15 budget, law enforcement was 45% of the budget, now its 38%. I am looking forward to more suggestions for needed programs and services in the city so please feel free to email me at chollingsworth [at] hyattsville [dot] org.
@RoDawg419 You’re right. Since I was elected in 2015, we have increased our investments in community services by 127% by creating programs that speak directly to our community’s needs. We’re committed to doing more and are still on that path.
