Thank you to Christopher Carlisle for attending & sharing your first-hand experience.
Christopher's daughter, Califia, is among those suffering on the street, battling untreated mental illness.
Sacramento is doing all we can; we're calling on the State to step up with us.
Cities are on the front lines of the mental health & homelessness crisis, but lack the tools to intervene, leaving 1000s homeless, struggling w/ addiction & mental illness
At Council, we held a behavioral health workshop on State & County programs & services and the City's role.
Winter is coming & @TheCityofSac is ready! 🍂
Leaf season starts Nov. 1 & you’ll start to see the claw collecting leaf piles.

Cities are on the front lines of this crisis, but lack the tools & authority needed to intervene effectively.
That is why this year I’ll be leading the push w/ @CABigCityMayors for stronger CA laws & compulsory treatment for individuals like Califia.

Powerful @sacbee_news series by Tom Philp on homelessness, addiction & untreated mental illnesses.
This profile of Califia, a Sacramento woman repeatedly failed by CA’s mental health system, is Exhibit A of the struggle to help so many homeless & languishing on our streets.
In this #KeepingUpWithKevin, we visit our Roseville Rd Campus, where, right now, 35 new tiny homes are under construction.
Our unsheltered homelessness count is down 19% in the last 2 years & 50% from 4 years ago because of smart solutions like our tiny home villages.
Last night, City Council voted to take the 1st step toward selling 102 acres.
"We're looking for a developer to bring affordable housing, parks, recreation, opportunities for youth, economic development, a central gathering spot to South Sacramento."
