Progress isn’t always one big announcement. Sometimes it’s fixing what was broken, investing in what matters, and making sure our city keeps moving forward.

Now she’s heading into a new job that offers tuition assistance towards her master's degree.

We don’t just want our young talent to come home - we want them to see a future worth staying for.

MPLOY is changing lives.

Whether it’s through programs like MPLOY, Urban Fellows, or MPY Legal Pathways, my door will always be open to the next generation.

The most exciting part of being Mayor is watching young boys and girls grow into young professionals. There’s something about being young, the problems of the world aren’t yours to fix yet, and still, your voice alone moves things.

But readiness is only half of it. My real hope is that they carry something deeper: the pull to come back home and pour their gifts into the city that raised them. That’s the goal. To encourage them, inspire them, and remind them that Memphis believes in them.

Great weekend watching world-class women’s tennis at the Memphis Classic, and we’re just getting started.

It’s exciting to see professional tennis back at Leftwich. Events like this showcase Memphis and remind us what’s possible when we invest in great places.

Memphis heat hits different, and this week the heat index is pushing past 100.

Staying safe is simple: get out of the heat and into the AC. And if you need somewhere to go, we’ve partnered with the Hospitality Hub to keep a cooling center open for anyone who needs it.

For everybody else, all nine of our city pools are free for Memphis residents all summer long. Bring the family, jump in, cool off. The splash pads at parks across the city are another great option, especially with the little ones.

Yesterday, I signed an Executive Order establishing Paid Parental Leave for eligible City of Memphis employees. Up to 6 weeks paid following the birth, adoption, or fostering of a child.

Housing is one of the biggest opportunities in Memphis too. Every city approaches it differently, but we all share the same goal: making sure more people have a chance to put down roots and build wealth.
