Matter isn't just solid, liquid, and gas.
There are six states of matter recognized in modern physics.
Solid has a fixed shape. Liquid flows while keeping its volume. Gas expands to fill any container. Plasma is an ionized gas that makes up stars and lightning. Bose Einstein condensates and fermionic condensates form only at temperatures near absolute zero, where quantum behavior takes over.
The Pacific Ring of Fire is the most seismically active region on Earth — and it surrounds nearly the entire Pacific Ocean. This massive tectonic belt is home to around 75% of the world’s active volcanoes and about 90% of all earthquakes.
