Congratulations to Cllr Muhammad Sadiq who was elected as the Mayor of Sutton at the Annual Council Meeting on 26 May. Cllr Cryss Mennaceur was elected as Deputy Mayor.

It was an absolute honour to attend the Civic Act of Remembrance today at the War Memorial in Cheam where the service was conducted by Reverend Dr Nicholas Peacock. Following the ceremony at the War Memorial, a further service was held at St Dunstan’s Church.

Her Royal Highness passed away peacefully last night at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.
The King and Queen and all Members of The Royal Family join The Duke of Kent, his children and grandchildren in mourning their loss and remembering fondly The Duchess’s life-long devotion to all the organisations with which she was associated, her passion for music and her empathy for young people.

Myself & Deputy Mayor attended the Sutton Sings Festival yesterday where we watched talented KS1 & KS2 choirs from local primary schools on a 'Song Journey' exploring songs related to transport & travel, accompanied by a live band of professional musicians. A wonderful occasion

Attending my first Citizenship Ceremony as Mayor alongside the Deputy Mayor was a true honour. I am looking forward to attending many more during my Mayoral year.

I was delighted to attend the celebration to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day in Trinity Square. The public open event included a displayed Spitfire plane, vintage market stalls and dance performances by Sutton Community Dance
Madam Deputy Mayor was honoured to attend the 80th Anniversary VE Day celebrations at the Sutton Sea Cadets last night which also included giving out badges/certificates of promotion to cadets and berets for new entry cadets - a wonderful evening.
I was delighted to attend the Health & Wellbeing Information & Advice Day again. This was the 17th such event run by The Wallington Community Wellbeing Charity and it is definitely the place to come for information and advice on all matters of Health & Wellbeing
