45th mayor of the @cityofjax and the 9th mayor since the City’s consolidation in 1968. A Jacksonville native, three-time cancer survivor, and non-profit founder
Every bag these volunteers filled is a cleaner street, a healthier waterway, and a source of pride for our neighborhoods. Thank you to every single participant who made Jacksonville a better place to live. This is what it looks like when a city takes care of itself, working together.
Congrats to Collect & Connect for winning the latest round of our Jax Litter League Challenge. The team collected 4.69 tons of debris, donating 259 volunteer hours, representing a value of $9,010.61 in cost avoidance to Jacksonville taxpayers. Great job!

The opening of this brand‑new Little Free Library at Sallye B. Mathis Elementary School represents what happens when a community comes together with one shared goal: helping every child discover the power and joy of reading. This is the result of a great partnership between @DuvalSchools, @KidsHopeJAX, River City Readers, the @jaxlibrary, and @CISJAX. Each of these organizations brings something unique, but together they are bringing the opportunity of reading directly to you, our students and the children of this neighborhood.

Jacksonville is under a Heat Advisory again today from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., making it the second day in a row of dangerous heat. Heat index values are expected to reach 110°, creating conditions that can quickly lead to heat-related illness.
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🌴 Limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the afternoon whenever possible.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
‼️ Know the signs of heat illness. If someone is showing signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.
Small steps can make a big difference during extreme heat. Learn more and find heat safety tips at https://t.co/xSnvCdBC48.
Earlier today, smiles lit up the school as Sallye B. Mathis Elementary School received a little library. Students, staff, council members, and even the mayor came to support. @CityofJax@DuvalSchools@jaxlibrary#littlelibrary
One of my goals as Mayor is to build a "bench" of young leaders who are interested in making local government a career. @read_usa's Summer Leadership Academy is a perfect program for civic engagement and I was thrilled to spend some time with them today at City Hall. Keep learning, stay curious, and know you are well on your way to making a difference in our community.

I love the opportunity to visit our many different city departments and employees. Yesterday, I met with our Employee Services Division who gave me a tour of the new Wellness Center in City Hall. We partnered with Blue Zones to provide our employees a space to improve both their mental and physical wellbeing. Keep up the great work everyone!
@sophiaivy901 The hours of the new location are still being finalized by European Street. As soon as they are available, we will be sure to share it with everyone. Thanks!
European Street Cafe has been part of Jacksonville’s story for decades, and we’re excited to welcome them to the riverfront as they help create a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors alike. Their commitment to hospitality and community makes them an outstanding fit for this exciting new chapter in Downtown Jacksonville.
European Street Cafe has been selected by the City to operate the café at the new Riverfront Plaza, bringing one of Jacksonville’s most recognizable, locally owned restaurant brands to the heart of Downtown’s reimagined riverfront.

At our July 5th Beaches Cleanup last year, 130 volunteers collected 2,800 lbs. of debris. Of course, we'd like to see less this year, but we appreciate you joining us, @JaxBeautiful, & Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol keeping our shoreline safe and beautiful.
