A cryptographic flaw in a widely used microcontroller has been discovered, allowing for the cloning of authentication devices such as YubiKeys. The vulnerability resides in the implementation of the Extended Euclidean Algorithm and can be exploited using side-channel attacks. The affected devices are permanently vulnerable and cannot be updated to fix the issue.

Time to forklift upgrade, though according to the announcement from YubiKey the way to exploit it requires a lot of access and custom hardware, so not that likely to be exploited in the wild. Thankfully YubiKeys are not that expensive to replace either as new versions are produced.
